Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments I was happy that the father of Tara's baby turned out to be the congressman. I got a good vibe from him. I think if Tara has handled things differently, they could have made it work.

Force doesn't do much with the mystery aspect in these books. They could be so much better. Too much redundancy and rehashing old plot lines for my taste. I am so glad there is only one more book and I'm done.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments Anita, I agree. Many of her books are repeat events with different names. The Stahl / Ramsey storylines and the corrupt police were getting on my nerves. I know there is corruption, but I don't know how the DC cops managed to find any criminals since they couldn't see what was right next to them.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1803 comments This series is going from bad to worse.

The book could have been 200 pages shorter as most of it is a verbatim repetition of conversations and plot points. One mention of the rusty steak knife joke is funny, two is pushing it, but there must have been at least 6 or 7 mentioned. Argh!

Also, how many corrupt cops can you have in a department where the chief is ostensibly honorable? Is he incompetent or willfully blind?

The plot had potential, but there are several annoying tropes.

I've also had enough of Sam's self-entitled and unprofessional behavior. The episode where she blocks in the irate driver is a case in point. I would also be angry if someone blocked me in, and the fact that she sits there to rub his face in it is unacceptable.

The next book will be my last.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments I actually loved the rusty steak knife bit!

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments I have decided that to put a period on this series I am going to read the first book in the First Family Series, State of Affairs. I want to see the upheaval Nick becoming President causes.

Once or twice but 7 times?!

Good luck! I'm calling it quits with the last one in this series.

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments There was way too much repetition in this book. I was kind of bored with it. The rusty steak knife comment was getting to me too, Lauren.

I'm going to take a break after the next book. I'm not ready to dive into the First Family series.

I am just really curious to see what happens, then I'm done. I'm not going to read the series.
