JD | 1 comments I'm June. I do prefer JD. How the world addressed my dad and he filled a big space.
I'm new to book reading for pleasure so looking to find what's on offer.

Molly | 1 comments Hi,
I'm new to this. Most of the modern day thrillers do little for me. I am interested in finding books outside of the mainstream.

I'm happy for recommendations and making friends.

message 3: by Tara (new)

Tara | 1 comments Hi,
I'm also looking for works outside of the mainstream. I also come from a home of common sense. I avoid the outlandish and the preposterous, but still would value reccs and friends.

Kami | 1 comments Hello, I answer to Kami. I'd be most interested in reccs and finding friends.

message 5: by Gail (new)

Gail | 1 comments I'm Gail. Everyone calls me Frenchy (you can work it out). I'm a reader that one day wants to write a book. I'm only 26 and have lived in almost every country in Europe. My parents are in banking. Privately schooled and have holidayed in countless places.

Hello!

Since you asked for recommendations, I want to recommend my story A Life for a Life to you.

My story is not outlandish or preposterous for you or for anyone. My novel is heartbreaking yet heartwarming. It’s also a fun and exciting adventure with magical realism, drama, comedy, action, and romance.

If interested, I included the goodreads link to my book on this post so that you can check out the free sample. It's also available on Amazon UK if you type in "A Life for a Life by Casey Yun" on the search engine.

If you have any questions or want to chat for fun, feel free to connect with me. I’m new to goodreads, so I’d love to connect with other readers.

Thank you for taking the time to read this post. Take care.

(By the way, this is the first time I’ve typed the words “outlandish” and “preposterous” on a post. I’m American, and we don’t say those words. I just want to let you know that I had fun saying those words. Haha! :D)

From,

Casey

A Life for a Life

message 8: by Dottie (new)

Dottie | 1 comments I'm Dottie. If you read my profile, you'll probably believe I'm dotty. I'm not dotty, I'm Dottie. I live in Scotland. I was born in England and count myself as British.

I might be a little crazy in trying to reduce my carbon-footprint to its minimum but, I'm not dotty. I'm Dottie!

I have a clothes recycling effort - it makes mums and their little-ones happy, happy, happy. And... I like sleeping in the garden. I shower in the garden too: with rain water. The health nutters drive to the beach, the lake, the river, every morning and take a swim - it's so healthy for them. Leave the car in the garage: take a cold shower; better still, shower in the garden in rain water. That makes so much sense. You see, I'm not dotty. I'm Dottie.

Friend me. :)) I'm not dotty.

"Hello. Please let me in."

message 10: by Mandy (new)

Mandy | 1 comments Hello all,
I'm a uni student from Britain. I've never been overseas and I'm wanting to read about life at all points of the compass. I read about the world we live in because I can't afford to travel. I focus my reading on real-world fiction and non-fiction; recommendations are welcome - as are friends.

message 11: by Erin (new)

Erin | 1 comments Hi everyone, I'm a single girl from West England and struggling to make ends meet.
I'm a signed up member of the local library and I'm an ebook fan (it's a cost thing) and have the Kindle app on my laptop.
The library has a book group. I thought of joining, but coffee and a bun costs an arm and a leg: I'll stay home.

Friends and recommendations would be good.

message 12: by Bridge (new)

Bridge | 1 comments Hi, I'm Bridge. I'm 26. I'm shy. I'm single and aiming to stay that way for a good few years yet. I'm working and other than reading and work, I have a house with a garden (left me by my grandmother) that keeps me fit.

I love reading good real life fiction.

message 13: by Kori (last edited Apr 24, 2025 11:58AM) (new)

Kori | 2 comments Just a girl. Struggling to stay in the black and now reading to learn and not to escape.

Friends and recommendations would be nice.

message 14: by Meg (new)

Meg | 1 comments Hello, I'm Meg and I live in Greater Manchester. I'm in study, have a room in a house and enjoy my books. I'm being pulled toward the realm of realistic fiction, memoirs and geo-political thrillers.

message 15: by Emily (new)

Emily | 1 comments Hi, I'm Emily. I'm 26. I'm shy. A single girl. Job hopping. Out an about. Staying sober. Doing what single girls do. Keeping my eyes open for... opportunity, a good man, a job where I'm paid to travel the world. Not much to ask!

message 16: by Val (new)

Val | 1 comments Hi all,
I’m a Scot, living in Scotland and working in the food standards industry.
Thanks for letting me in, I hope to learn lots from being here.
Please add me :))

message 17: by Jem (new)

Jem | 1 comments Hi all, I'm living in London.

As every month comes there are fewer and fewer pennies in my pocket: I’ve only myself to blame, I voted…….. Staying in is actually more enjoyable than I first thought: books, books, and more books appeals.

Please friend me.
