I get that. There are certain publishers I don’t even request from anymore. Their declines always make me sad/cranky.

I feel you. Sourcebooks Fire is such a publisher for me currently. I don't know why, maybe because I once deleted my netgalley account on accident. Since then, they do always decline me :(

Weird right? Since I’ve reviewed quite a few books for Berkley thanks to Berit👍, Berkley has sent me a few widgets. Usually a genre that I don’t really read, but if I think I might like it, I take it. Just hoping that when I request a book, they might say yes.

I do think it's interesting what I get declined or accepted for, sometimes it doesn't make sense, lol. But I'm just along for the ride right now.

Widgets are book-specific (while auto-approval means you can read anything the publisher lists without having to request). Widgets are a lot more common than auto-approval, and if you're around and active long enough, you'll get more of them :)

Thank you :)

I put a question about this very thing in another thread here, wasn't sure where to put it. I had two books recently in 'pending' even after one of them was published. I wish they'd even decline it rather than just leave it there!!!!
