Aside from our group read, how do you decide which book to read next?

Stephen I usually steer towards books I can discuss with someone, like if If a friend recommends a book. Or I'll browse the internet for suggestions. Last resort is window shopping at Barnes and Noble.

Blue Ghost | 116 comments I work at a used bookstore, and we've been doing an amount of upheaval over the last year: getting rid of books we have multiple copies of, or that are in too bad a shape to sell, as well as everything (besides high-dollar collectibles) that's been collecting dust over the last 7+ years. For awhile there I was bringing home about 10 books a week—so I do my darndest to pick something off of my shelf whenever it's time to crack a new (used) spine.

Occasionally, I'll participate in my local library's seasonal reading challenges or ask a friend to pluck my next read off one of my shelves for me. But for October (and usually through November), I read horror in celebration of my favorite holiday.

Stephen I like your approach, I too have an overflowing collection of books I keep adding too. Maybe I should focusing on reading them instead of adding to it haha

Sarah B | 4 comments I generally read books by the library due dates. And I write all the due dates + titles on a piece of paper. Plus on Wednesday and Thursday I try to read equine related books as I go to the ranch on Thursday morning to see my horses.

I often have several books due on the same date (and some older books I can renew) so I pick from those, what order I will read them in...

But it's mostly done by due dates.
