Juris | 3 comments Hello Everyone!

Have you ever finished a book and wished you could ask a character why they made a certain choice?

Or maybe get their take on other characters in the story?
Imagine if your favorite hero (or villain!) could reply to you—just like a friend on Facebook!

💬 What if you could:
Ask a character why they behaved a certain way in a chapter?
Get their personal opinions on other characters?
Unlock hidden thoughts and emotions straight from the source?

I’m just curious would romance readers find this feature exciting if authors started offering it in the future? Would you want to chat with your favorite book boyfriend or heroine? 🤔

And which book character would you love to talk to first? 😍📖

Juris | 3 comments I’m asking because we’re currently developing this feature, and Goodreads seems like the perfect place to hear readers’ opinions on it

꧁༺ L̴E̴X̴I̴E̴ ༻꧂ | 68 comments That would be amazing. Personally, I think one of the things that sets books apart from movies is the fact that you get a glimpse into the inner workings of their mind but sometimes even a character's action in a chapter isn't always explained.
It would be a neat option to "chat" with my favorite book character. Honestly, it would be interesting to see the love interest's personal opinions. Oftentimes in romance, the story focuses on the FMC and sometimes I really wish we could view things at least once from the MMC's perspective.
Having to pick one to talk to first is a tough question but I think it would probably be Aelin Ashryver. She's brilliant, sarcastic, and we would definitely bond over a shared love of books and chocolate. I would choose Kate Daniels next though.

We are chatting with some publishers to test this feature with their books now.
