Jackie (jackuehl) | 8 comments I have had a week's long drought of non-interesting, not-unique, and boring stories. HELP. What will get me out of this? NOT Ruth Ware, Riley Sagar, or Frieda McFadden type. Snore.

George Stenger | 15 comments Probably more mystery than thriller but some Agatha Christie books are excellent with twists. My favorites are And Then There Were None, The Murder of Roger Ackroyd, and Murder on the Orient Express. Shari Lapena is a current author who has some excellent thrillers.

Ruth Girl, go read some Minka Kent…try The Unmissing. Wow. All her stuff will rattle cages.

David Freas (quillracer) | 557 comments I would go for something different than your normal diet. I read only mysteries but when I need a change of venue (if you will), I go for a romance.
If you read mainly thrillers, how about something lighter? Carl Hiaasen writes wonderful stories loaded with humor.

Ruth I agree, David. I will switch genres for a while when I get in a slump. Works every time.
