I was hoping for a standalone.

Are we going to be assigned a specific task or tasks per week, or do we choose from the task lists that were posted? If the latter does it matter which category each person chooses from? Is someone from any team wiling to share their SS so we have a starting point for one? I have questions.....😂😂😂

I will not be assigning any tasks each week. I'm hoping that each team will come up with a strategy to accomplish all 100 tasks within the time period. It's up to each team as to how they go about doing it.

Each person reads only one book per week, no extras. Is that correct?

For the task "very near to where you live", is it ok if the place is in another state but it's close to where we live?

I live in NJ directly across the river from Philadelphia, PA so I'm wondering if I can use a book set in Philadelphia.

Correct. The only exception would be if you volunteered to be the 'guest driver' boost the week that your team chooses to use it.

When I was writing up this challenge, I had two lists of tasks. One was supposed to have been posted on the info and sign-up thread, and the other on team threads. I would change or add something to one list and forget to do the same to the second list :(

Evidently, I forgot to put the instructions for adding S, ED, and ING on the team thread list. Sorry. I have updated all the team thread task list with this instruction: You may change the word by adding an S, ED, or ING.

So, for your examples, carved will work, but stoutly will not.

There are 100 tasks that need to be read for. The team that completes all 100 tasks first wins the race. I'm hoping that teams will come up with a method or strategy that will best utilize their books to match the tasks as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Each team gets two sabotages and two boosts.

The sabotages are Flat Tire and Rain Delay. You can disrupt a different team if you'd like.

The boosts are High Octane Fuel and Guest Driver. Those are to help your own team.

So the sabotage is first come first served regarding teams they aim at , but boosts can come into play anytime..so could we do one for the first week ?

Basically, yes. Sabotages are first come, first served. And you can use the boosts whenever you'd like.

Can you unclaim tasks?

Let's say in week 1 I post a book and claim #12, letter B and opal. It also works for New Zealand, but I don't claim it.

Now it's week 8 and I read a book that works for opal again. Can I change week 1 from opal to New Zealand, and use opal in week 8?

That is a very good question! My first inclination was no. It would be a hassle for recordkeeping. But I don't think it will happen often enough to get irritating.

So, yes, you can swap out tasks as long as you are very, very clear in your Completion Post(s), and that you only do it once or twice.

Making your Completion Post before then is highly encouraged. That allows someone can make the team Completion Post in good time and everyone can begin planning for the next week.

No. If your team decides to read for all the scavenger hunt words first and get them out of the way, you can totally do that.
