I read We Do Not Part
I discussed it in the thread. I found the book difficult to read, not only because of the harrowing subject matter, but also the repetitive dream sequences. Even though I didn’t like the book, it really made an impact on me, and I spent some time reading about Korean history and the Jeju Island Massacre.

I have read Witchcraft for Wayward Girls. I gave the book ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. It was a very intense read. I can’t say that I “enjoyed” it. However, it was very well written and made quite an impact on me. I am glad I read it but feel as if I have been through the wringer. This book will stay with me a long time!

I read The River We Remember and discussed in the group read thread.
I wasn't sure about reading another book by Krueger because I was put off by the last one I read by him, but I'm glad I decided to give him another try. This one started out kind of slow for me, but then I really got invested in the characters. I thought it was a really well-done book.
I also read Kills Well with Others and discussed in the group themed read thread. This is the second book in a series and I really enjoyed the first book, Killers of a Certain Age. I was looking forward to revisiting the main characters again. I thought it was really good, but I didn't like it quite as much as the first one. I think that's partly because there was a little more humor in the first one. However, I still enjoyed the story and thought it was well-written.

I read The River We Remember and discussed it in the group thread. This was my first book by William Kent Krueger and I liked how he revealed the story. Parts of it was slow going but it was atmospheric which added to my enjoying the book.

Kristie, Marnie, and myself all finished The River We Remember and discussed it in the dedicated thread.
I gave the book 4 stars. It was an intense mystery set in 1950's Minnesota and was rife with racism along with the secrets and scandals that permeate a small town. I'm thinking something light and fluffy might be a good follow up.

I read The River We Remember and gave it 4 stars. I have mixed feeling about the book. There were good morals , but it was full of small town prejudice and racism. I discussed the book in the River We Remember thread.

I read Black Woods Blue Sky by Eowyn Ivey and I have rarely read a book where I cared for all the characters and at the same time was furious with some of their destructive choices that left me crying and shaking my head. Set against the backdrop of the wildness of the Alaskan landscape Ivey shows us the fragility of trust and the heart break of acceptance.
4 stars

I read Six Days in Bombay and discussed it in the group thread. More of my thoughts here: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

I read Together We Fall Apart by Sophie Matthiesson and discussed this book in the group thread.
The portrayal of family and relationships in this book is very contemporary and authentic, including the issues of addiction and sexuality. A very impressive debut novel by this author and a 5 star read for me.

I read The River We Remember and discussed it in the group thread. It was a long audiobook but the setting and characters were interesting and made for a intense, grappling read. Although I am not sure if I will pick up another book by the author.

I read Witchcraft for Wayward Girls and discussed in the thread. Solid 4 stars for me! The horror was less in this one but loved everything else about the book. A true page turner where I was hooked. Love the cover as well.

I read The River We Remember and discussed it in the thread.
The book was intense and it stayed with me for a long time. Mostly because of the dark atmosphere the story created - due to the ever present prejudice and racism. A memorial of how important respect and tolerance are…

I read Hanging by a Thread and I discussed it in the thread. It is cozy murder mystery read with more emphasis on the "cozy" than on the "murder mystery" I loved the creative and inventive projects that were going on in the bakery and the sewing room because they were very unusual. I loved the female empowerment and women in business focus in this book. The murder mystery got a little lost in the local community as they were all too wholesome. There were not really suspects lol and it made the whole mystery too obvious.

I lead the group discussion on Witchcraft for Wayward Girls.
I enjoyed this story. It was sat in the 1970s in a home for young girls who got pregnant outsided of marriage. Given that it's written Grady Hendrix, I don't think it's a spoiler to say that supernatural shenanigans ensue, but for once, they weren't the scariest part of the tale!

After you have read your chosen book(s) for this month's group theme read, please report in the thread below.
Please state what book you read (and link it), how it fits the theme, that you discussed it (and where), and briefly summarize what you thought of the book and/or link to your review if you have written one.
If you lead the discussion, please state this in your post.
Here is an example for how to report your read:
“I read Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone and discussed it in the [Harry Potter/Buddy Read/Other books in theme] thread. I really enjoyed the book. I watched the film first so I already knew the story line but I was surprised how much I enjoyed the book more as there was more detail involved. Plus I listened to the audio which was narrated by Stephen Fry who is a superb narrator. 4 stars.”
If you read more than one book which fits the theme, please report all your reads in the same post rather than in separate posts.
Please note, there are THREE different badges that can be obtained for group reads. Those reading and discussing one of the two chosen group reads will receive a colorful badge similar to those for previous group reads. Those reading and discussing any other book in the theme will receive a stamp. The discussion leader for the two chosen group reads will receive a badge stating they led the discussion. Maximum amount of badges you can receive for the group reads is TWO - one for the chosen group read/discussion leader and one for any other book in the theme.
In order to receive a badge you must:
1. put your Wall of Fame Name at the beginning of your post as follows: WoF Name - Jayme
2. have read the book(s) before or during April 2025.
3. discussed it in the relevant thread. Discussion must be more than "I read the book and I liked it". Discussion requires something more substantial and analytical of what you read, for example, thoughts, opinions, impact it had on you, what was your favorite part, was it what you expected it to be like etc. You may also like to review the book and post a link to the review in that thread.
4. Report that you have read AND discussed the book.
