I am number 4

I love dystopian series and have read so many like the maze runner, legend series, matched series, slated series, the testing series, and many more. Could you rate on a scale to 1-10 how much romance any of these books series have. And if they are any good or not. I have been trying to find a great book and these all interest me! Thank you.

Divergent- Not full of romance, but a good amount IMO. Good book series, TERRIBLE movie series.

Scythe- Minimal romance, great series!

I wasn't a fan of Uglies, but I think I am an outlier there.

Happy reading!

Niya | 7 comments First off, let me say that Scythe is amazing. It doesn't have much romance, but it does have a little. If you're looking for a romance series, this is not it. I personally like it because it has so little romance, but I understand that some people don't. I would rate it a 2 in romance.

message 15: by Terry (new)

Terry Birdgenaw | 9 comments All the books of The Antunite Chronicles trilogy are award-winning, rated 4.5 or higher on Goodreads, and although allegories, are dystopian novels with romance, espionage, femme fatale revenge seduction, and enemies to lovers romance.

Shawn Bank | 9 comments Eighteen-year-old Emily Cormac’s quiet life in rural Ireland shatters when she discovers a hidden journal belonging to her late grandmother—a record of a secret world where luminous Sprites and their corrupted kin, the Vamprites, wage an endless war for balance.
Drawn into this conflict through a fateful bond with Lumina, a courageous Nateeri Sprite, Emily is thrust into a realm of ancient prophecies, elemental tribes, and deadly trials. The key to both salvation and ruin lies in the Prism—a fragment of the first dawn, capable of amplifying the Sun’s power or extinguishing it forever.
From the fire-swept deserts of Wadi Rum to volcanic fortresses and sacred groves, Emily and her newfound allies—warriors, hunters, and bonded champions—must survive treacherous landscapes, unearth the truth about a lost sixth tribe, and outwit Tiernan, the ruthless Vamprite king who will stop at nothing to claim the Prism.
But as friendships deepen and loyalties are tested, Emily’s heart is torn between the warmth of a rising love and the shadows cast by betrayal. The fate of both the mortal and magical worlds rests on her ability to unite light and darkness before the balance is lost forever.
A sweeping tale of magic, sacrifice, and destiny, Symbiosis of Light & Shadow blends rich world-building, pulse-pounding battles, and heartfelt emotion into an epic fantasy adventure where every choice tips the scales between dawn and eternal night.

Sol Cañas | 6 comments Scythe 7.8/10, ive only read 2 of them but it was very enjoyable and easy to read, while also changing it up, very much enjoyed it. Not a lot of romance but it was a side plot for sure.

Uglies..eh, 4.8/10 it wasnt necessarily bad, just wasn´t written in a way i particularly enjoyed, some parts were definitely good though! And there is kinda a romance plot, i just didnt enjoy it, it felt like a bad copy of divergent.

Divergent!!! 7.5/10 Yeah..also not my favorite but not bad at all. Definitely iconic, and the first book is very good, but after that its- okay. For sure the books are a lot better than the movies. And yes, it does have romance, not fluff at all but definitely a hard earned hard working romance, that i think is pretty important to the plot

✷ | cookie (kaz brekker's version) | 6 comments divergent is great, uglies i found boring but it's okay

Audrey McGrail | 6 comments I also really liked the Divergent series. It felt like an actual relationship instead of a fantasy everything is perfect between us type romance. Also a lot of action which I loved

L. Rae | 5 comments The Divergent series was fantastic--and a lovely balance between romance and world building. While this doesn't really answer your question, I figured as a fan of dystopian stories, this one might be for you:
