The team goes to visit Gonzo at the rehab center and he reveals that he’s worked out a deal with the U.S Attorney’s Office where he’ll plead to a misdemeanor. While he can keep his job, it ends and career progression for him. Sam and the others think it’s a raw deal. What did you make of it?

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments Total fiction. But if he had crawled into a bottle of Jack that wouldn't have been a problem.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments It felt like a bad deal, but I didn't believe it was Sam's way to let it go through.

Gonzo was a decorated officer and took a bullet for the job. Then he had to witness the man who saved him get murdered before his eyes. This was a bad deal.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1801 comments While I feel sorry for Gonzo and the trauma he suffered, there is no getting around the fact that he knowingly bought drugs on the street. What would have happened if baby Alex had gotten into his stash? Or if he had killed an innocent bystander while under the influence?

I know that in Marie Force world. we should just accept that Sam's friends are above the law and deals will be made for them, but this is unacceptable. IRL he would (and should) be prosecuted and fired.

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments I agree with Lauren. If this was real life, Gonzo would not have a job any longer. Cops are not above the law, even if there are circumstances driving him to purchase drugs on the street.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments He had to resort to illegal activity in order to obtain his drug of choice. Like I said, if he had crawled into a bottle of Jack that would not have been illegal.

It might not be illegal, but if he were intoxicated on the job, he would be fired at the very least.
