Thanks Lyn! I am thinking to replace two Amy Tan books and to finally get "Monster of Venice" I am hoping if I plan shrewdly I can stretch $50 to buy me 5 books, I am kind of holding back and waiting for a borders coupon to appear in my e-mail box.

I won't be going on any sprees for awhile. I have to exhaust the stock at the library first.

Oooh! Have fun spending that gift card, Colleen!
Great finds Kate and love the post too :)
Colleen - that's awesome. I wish someone would give me a gift card for books!
Darkpool, thanks for sharing. I've added that book to my list :)
I haven't really gone on a spree lately either. The last book I got was London The Biography by Peter Ackroyd. Not royalty specific but of course, you can't do a bio on London without them :)

The Sunne in Splendour
The Princes of Ireland
Helen of Troy
BRITAIN FROM THE AIR <--great coffee table book of the castles and such.
Awesome finds Tisha! I have been collecting Edward Rutherfurd's books and the last one I need to find is the Rebels of Ireland (the 2nd book in his Dublin saga). I'm excited to read them :)

"
I recently got 2 Edward Rutherfurd books. I had heard his books were good. I have The Forest and The Princes of Ireland. They really look good.
Other Recent purchases would be
Fatal Majesty Reay Tannahill
The Stone of Light Nefer the Silent Christian Jacq
The Stone of Light The Wise Woman Christian Jacq
Gods and Kings Lynn Austin
Cleopatra Michael Grant
To Shield the Queen Fiona Buckley
The Siren Queen Fiona Buckley
Duchess of Aquitaine Margaret Ball

Tell us what you think of The Stone of Light series. I've looked at them several times but have yet to buy one.

Giggle that is a great way to look at it. Since I have a book collecting/hording/buying sorta 'illness' I tend to always have at least several very large books waiting to be read.

Wen, I hope you've found the OCD thread!

Just thought I would share what I got with my birthday gift card:
The Kings Confidante by Jean Plaidy
The Crimson Petal and the White by Michel Faber
The Monster of Florence Douglas Preston
The Queens Sorrow by Suzannah Dunn
The Kings Confidante by Jean Plaidy

I also like Preston's series, with Lincoln Child, about Agent Pendergast. Smart suspence novels.

Only one of those I have/read is the Queens Sorrow by Suzannah Dunn. Her books were just OK to me. For some reason they tend to leave me wanting more. This one while is Supposed to be about the Queen really does not have her in it much at all.

The Kings Daugher is Kyles Second book. It was good. More about the fictional characters than the royalty there in but a good book. The one I just ordered is supposed to be about the mother of the main girl in the Kings Daughter.

I will let you know. I have not gotten it in the mail yet but it looked good from the description. There is another book that is a biblical fiction about Eve I am still looking for at a good price.
The one above said it is the retelling of Eves story and about her and Adam.
The other book is called Havah by Tosca Lee and the description of it says it is about Eve and Adam as well as Lilith.
I will have to get that book as well. I think the contrast in the 2 books should be interesting.

"
I'll be interested to see what you think of them. She has a third book in the series called The Queen's Captive that will be released in August. It's set during the time that Elizabeth is imprisoned in the Tower of London.

Here's an example:
The Plantagenet Prelude - Plaidy - Eleanor of Aquitaine and the King of France - F
The War of the Roses - Weir - NF
Nefertiti - Moran - F

That would be a good way to keep track of them. Not sure how hard it would be to get going.
In this group in the bookshelf area we could set it up more by locations/area and and divide by HF and NF. It would grow fast and would be easy to go in to the bookshelf area to find new ones to add to your own to find/to read lists once it had a chance to grow.

I don't know how to use the bookshelf. I'm glad so many of you are interested! I just don't have the GR knowledge on how to get it started
I think it would be nice to be organized by F & NK with each person doing their best to organize their books according to country or time period.
So Wen if you could help me get started by showing me how to set up a bookshelf, I will be the first to list their books.

Only thing I really know about the bookshelf is how to add a book. I think the mods will have to set the folders up and all if I am not mistaken??? Jennifer, Colleen, Lyn...is that right?
I think so Wen... I just had a quick look and we should be able to add shelves. I'm guessing once we add them everyone will be able to add books to them? I've never done it before so I don't know for sure... Maybe you all could let us know what shelves you want?
Great idea Susan!
Great idea Susan!

I would have a shelf for each royal category we have, like: egypt, russia, france and english.
You could maybe list like this:
Under France
To The Scaffold Erickson NF 4 Susan C
Now remember, I have no idea how the bookshelves work. What's even possible, but that is what I see in my head.
Okay, I went into the bookshelf area and tried organizing the books by type. Some shelves haven't been set up yet (German for one) as I think we have to have a book there in order to set up a new shelf for it if that makes sense. Now that I've set up the shelves are others able to add books and pick which shelf to add the book to?
I don't know if this is what you meant Susan. Were you looking to do it in the bookshelf area or actually start a new thread with each of us listing the books we own? Either way, we can do it.
