Elsie | 961 comments This is a real problem for me... so, for those depressed girlies out there like me, can you give spend a minute and five me some advice?

⭐wish⭐~school hiatus~ (dwisha275gmailcom) | 131 comments You could try cancelling any activities that you have on the weekend if cancelling school isn't any option and then use the weekends for your self-care day

Elsie | 961 comments Well, it's more difficult than that. Sometimes, on school days, I have to have someone coax me out of bed because I recuse to get up. I just feel like I can't do it anymore.

Elsie | 961 comments So, I need something to help motivate me. Maybe help me calm myself down in the morning. Or something to focus on if I get upset during the day?
I really care about school and my grades, but sometimes I feel like my only choice is to give up, and I can't do that.
Can anyone help me?

⭐wish⭐~school hiatus~ (dwisha275gmailcom) | 131 comments What I do is keep some sort of daily routine that makes me feel good about myself in the mornings. Also, try looking forward to meeting your friends!

ella | 2650 comments in the mornings when you are getting for school you can put on some calming music. Head cinema is great, Aspen Heights, and Calmly. just music with no words very calming.

ella | 2650 comments I graduated last year and I've always been a person who thought school was useless because the tests are more about memory than learning and I just wasn't school smart at all. There were some good moments definitely but my first two years of highschool were absolute butt. after school if you enjoy being outside you could go outside for a breather or do an activity to keep your mind off of school. also if your school has clubs you could join one that fits in your interests. I never was in one but everybody is different

Elsie | 961 comments Dwisha, I have about one friend that I really talk to, three at my lunch table, but I have one true friend. Other "friends" are just "Hi, how are you? Bye!" friends. I'm not super social, but my counselor is looking into putting me into two more of my bestie's classes to hopefully help.

Ella, that sounds smart. The music, I mean. I do enjoy being outside, and I wish I were more.. My phone's been too much of a habit.

Elsie | 961 comments Maybe I'll try it.

Angela | 19 comments focus more on yourself...focus on your goals... meditation is 100x times better than watching TV or playing games during evenings... calm heals too..

ella | 2650 comments also for the music miracle tones is good, too.

✿Della✿ (of The Hollow) For me, I like to look at this that make me remember how good life is, like pictures of me and my friends and family or Pinterest photos of sunrises and starry nights. For music, water running or anything else by Delaney Bailey. 🩷

bailey (bibliophilebailey) | 93 comments i was severely depressed throughout school, so i completely understand. it's gotten hard throughout my adult life as well, but what seems to help me is a self-care shower. an everything shower, which takes forever, but a face mask after and nail care after. doing lots of nice things for myself after the shower, putting on a matching PJ set, etc. it helps me feel ready to go the next morning. 🤍

Lucija | 65 comments when i feel like i cant get up in the morning, i just turn on some music that i like, so maybe you can try that. or watch some videos if you have a comfort celebrity/artist/influancer. if you like being in the nature you could always go for a short walk, even 10 minutes could help. hope youll get better.

Jessie ツ (jessie69) | 69 comments try to incorporate ‘self care’ things in small ways everyday that help expand ur threshold for ‘burning out’ if that makes sense. when I was in hs the heavy workload of classes, work, & activities very much influenced my depression (as I’m sure it does everyone). Whatever your ‘thing is’ on self care days see if there’s any way to add that to ur day-to-day schedule.

adding to the music thing - I’ve always found classical music calming :)

🖤sending love & wishing luck! also, (& sorry if this is wrong assumption) I’m assuming ur in high school but want u to know: as an almost 23 yr old I look back on hs & how much I loaded my schedule/stressed/felt down ab everything and wish I could go back to tell myself ‘none of it will rlly matter’ - PROMISE things will get better <333

Benji | 174 comments (Create a timeline a day before, free time before, during, & after school/ work.)

Start of day:
1.So roll out of bed. 2.Splash comes with cold water on your face. (say something nice to your reflection. if your mind echoes back it's too early for this. Smile back, & say "love you kid..."3. Jump in the shower. 4. Scent of vanilla leads to happier thoughts... 5. Brush your teeth. 6. Yoga poses with deep breaths 10-15m. Less compression, less pain, easier to breathe. when transitioning through the poses with deep breaths. 7. On the bus, stuck in traffic a play something that feeds into your own mental chemistry that starts your brain on the right foot. (For me personally it's Tqum by Sofia Reyes & (What A) Wonderful World by Sam Cooke. Yet if you're not driving, get in a quick brain game to get your neurons firing before the shift or class starts.

Mid day
8. Quick positive affirmations, on a voice memo, a youtube speech, or a spotify audio clip. 9. A conversation with someone who makes you feel good. 10. Say something kind to yourself. 11. Have a positive music playlist to turn to. To get you into a better mood. 12. Scents hot heavily sprayed but enough for a sniff, of a pleasant smell, like damn that smells good. 13. Happy relatable quotes & memes that get you out of the rot.

Later in the day:
14. Write down your positive affirmation like self~talk therapy.
15. Get in a quick body workout 30-45 mins. Rather it's a sport, a body circuit, or just a physical activity with yourself or with friends.
16. Relaxing shower, After that yeah, I earned this.

Dreamscape:
17. Before or after dinner read for 30-45ms. /:\ Of a story that makes you feel empowered..

P.S Music has been proven to rewire the subconscious mind.

Benji | 174 comments Also Sometimes we just need someone to relate to our pain.
Reminding us were not alone in whatever we are currently feeling &/or facing 👹:
Text 988: If the pressure feels too much.
https://open.spotify.com/playlist/4UG...

In the deepest echos of a tragic shattered soul. Realise the true worth in these songs. When this world tears you apart, & you ask yourself this question "What are we really when the lust is through?"

So I hope my old routine helps, rescue you from the darkest despairs hidden to the naked eye, some of our hardest battles we fight inside.

& if you wonder why I take time out of my busy schedule to help strangers it's this: ________________________… & maybe I’ve experienced so much hatred, that it made me want to show love. That I wouldn’t treat people the way others mistreated me. To make someone feel good, not stressed, not adding tribulations to a life they know nothing about…

That someone cares about them, even if they stopped doing so themselves. That's my why!
