Right after delivering his Oval Office address, Nick faces his first Situation Room challenge when he learns the Iranians have detained Secretary of State Ruskin and his detail. Did you believe he was he deliberately being tested by Iran or ordinary business of the Office?

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments The Iranians was absolutely testing him. Since the trip was already planned, Nick saw it as a way to show the world that this was just business as usual. Nick had no way of knowing it would go sideways, and Ruskin was so stupid.

I was sure the Iranians were testing him. Stupid indeed is the right word for that idiot Ruskin. Turns out he was testing Nick.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments What the Iranians and Ruskin hoped to prove is that Nick is not up to the job. How that would have been good for the country I can't imagine. What did Ruskin expect Nick to do when it was all over?
