H. Nightshade | 1 comments I launched my debut epic fantasy novel just a few days ago. As a first-time indie author, I expected a slow crawl. But to my surprise, the book has been downloaded over 100 times across different Amazon stores — all without a single review or rating (yet).

It’s a strange feeling — a mix of gratitude and suspense. You know people are reading, but you have no idea what they think.

What kept me going during the launch week? A deep emotional connection to my protagonist, who carries the legacy of a fallen soldier-father. The story begins in Charleston, but soon spirals into a mythic conflict beyond Earth, where magic and memory collide.

I’d love to hear how other indie authors handled this silent early stage — when your book is out there, but the feedback hasn’t started rolling in. Did you go through the same? How did you push forward?
