In the middle of the Iranian crisis, Nick steps away for 30 minutes to attend Aubrey and Alden’s birthday party. One of the guests who had agreed not to post any pictures on social media did so anyway and Nick was criticized for being there. Should they have anticipated a guest not behaving? Was it a wrong move by Nick or did he do the right thing?

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments Someone is going to criticize Nick for everything he does. It's something that goes with the job. The guest behaved very badly, but Nick handled to media fallout expertly. I'm glad he went, but I'm not sure he should have.

Political optics are a reality. The only thing I think he didn’t handle well was knowing upfront the risk of this getting out was there and being prepared for it. He did the right thing as a father and President given that he wasn’t needed elsewhere in those 30 minutes. It’s also a valuable lesson going forward about who his family can trust for things like this. Taking their phones was a minimum.

About the parents that did this? I wouldn’t say a thing. They just would be deleted from future guest lists. They’ll know why😏

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments Nick and Sam have a lot to learn with this life altering situation they find themselves in and who to trust is definitely one of them.
