Ann (annrumsey) | 16931 comments Great for you Gail to already be on track for a second set of books. I need to get back to my first lists - surely I have a few to add to mine.

GailW (abbygg) | 521 comments I know I'll have many more mysteries and thrillers along the way this year. I just have one to finish up on round 1 and I'm struggling with fitting it in.

Ann (annrumsey) | 16931 comments Gail: is that the multiple countries one? I some years have trouble slotting one for that too This year I had a Dept Q book that worked. Good luck!

It is. I'm reading so slow right now that my biggest problem is trying to fit all the books in and still keep to my plan. Ha. Heaven forbid I'd try to change my plan!

message 7: by Donnajo (new)

Donnajo | 4354 comments I'm trying to have a some what plan but it might not work out the way I think. LOL. I kind of have ideas for the bottom ones I still need to get read. I think it's a matter of what my mood feels like in the end.

Ooh, Ann, which Dept Q book? I need a multiple countries suggestion; if I haven't read it already and it's the next one in order for me, it might work.

message 9: by Ann (new)

Ann (annrumsey) | 16931 comments Carol: yes! The last Dept Q book is the one with multiple countries! And it really is the last book in that series. A fitting end, but hate to no longer have books to look forward to.

message 10: by Carol/Bonadie (new)

Carol/Bonadie (bonadie) | 9486 comments Shoot. I haven't read the one before, The Shadow Murders. Requesting that now; I wonder if it also takes place in more than one country?

message 11: by Ann (new)

Ann (annrumsey) | 16931 comments Carol I don’t think the next to last Dept Q is set in multiple countries- I guess you will be able to use it next year if you don’t get to both this year.

Oh well. I'll read it anyway as it's waiting for me at the library. Although, plenty of time for me to get to the last one this year!

Ann (annrumsey) | 16931 comments Oh good for you Gail! And two of the hardest prompts in #19 #22 (for me anyway) in oldest TBR and before you were born!

GailW (abbygg) | 521 comments Updated with 2 adds for July, both a bit quirky:

Cut and Thirst, a short story by Margaret Atwood. Really liked it. Got quite a few chuckles out of it. I adore this woman.
Evidence of the Affair, a short "romance" story by Taylor Jenkins Reid, to fit #14. First of this author I have read and it was very interesting.

GailW (abbygg) | 521 comments Added 1 more for July - #12, The Man Who Died. Set in Finland by a Finnish author. Loved it!

Ann (annrumsey) | 16931 comments Gail, oh The Msn Who Died looks really good!

Donnajo | 4354 comments You are doing great. I’m reading my last book on the challenge now so hopefully will be able to start my second challenge next week at some point.

GailW (abbygg) | 521 comments Added 2 for August: #3 Crooked House, a buddy read with Ann, and #24 The Invention of Morel, a fantasy/magical realism that was quite good (I was in a "too-literal" mood the first time I tried it)!

message 21: by Ann (new)

Ann (annrumsey) | 16931 comments Gail - I enjoyed the buddy read and discussion of Crooked House! I am hoping my book mood settles in after a rocky mood weekend. I imagine it will when The Hallmarked Man is released this week.
