We made it! Welcome to the end of the April 2025 Dewey's Readathon. We finished yet another 24 hours of bookishness and some excellent reading. All our posts and threads and activities will remain in place on our social media, so if you are doing an extended unofficial readathon weekend, it is all there to interact as you go. I will be heading to bed, but we have several admins who did get some sleep and will be keeping an eye on things for folks still reading. And, once I get some sleep, I'll probably resume reading. My book is not done yet after all. And there are so many more books awaiting their turn. So happy reading, everyone, and I'll join back in for a bit more reading after my post-readathon nap. .

Cathy (cathepsut) | 567 comments currently reading:
- Magic Slays (Kate Daniels #6), Graphic Audio, listened to 1h44m of 10h36m (320p.)

Finished:
- Pushing Ice
- Son of the Shadows (Sevenwaters #2)

I accomplished my goal finishing those two.

Snack and meals worked out ok. Still have those two oranges left. The BBQ flamed salmon cubes were delicious!

I enjoyed the parts of the readathon I did take part in. More eye reading would have been nice, but I had too much other stuff going on.

It‘s just past 2pm here, I will keep going until bedtime…

Ann A (readerann) | 867 comments How many books did you read during this readathon? Did you have any favorites? 1 full book and 4 partials. I am liking them all.

How many books did you finish? One

Did you accomplish your goals for this readathon? I'm pretty happy with the results

How did your snacks and meals work out? Are there things you would change about the food and beverages side of your readathon for next time? I have a similar menu each readathon, severely limiting junk food to prevent crashing. It works well when I stick to it!

Did you enjoy this readathon? What was the most successful part of your readathon? What would you change for next time? I always enjoy the readathons! Wouldn't change a thing

Will you be continuing your readathon reading past the end of our official readathon? Yes, as much as possible

K.L. Middleton (theunapologeticbookworm) | 32 comments How many books did you read during this readathon? Did you have any favorites?
I was able to finish one book and get about two-thirds of the way through a second. I was continuing to read the Dungeon Crawler Carl series (specifically, books 4 and 5), and I am loving it!

How many books did you finish?
Just one, but it was a fairly long book.

Did you accomplish your goals for this readathon?
Honestly, no. I had a total of 6 books on my TBR for the readathon, and could have made more progress on that goal if I'd started with shorter books than the ones I chose to read. I also took a nap and got a full night's sleep, so I only read for 12 hours.

How did your snacks and meals work out? Are there things you would change about the food and beverages side of your readathon for next time?
I really didn't snack during the readathon, but my meals were pretty good. I don't think I would change anything for next time, unless I choose to order takeout.

Did you enjoy this readathon? What was the most successful part of your readathon? What would you change for next time?
I did enjoy the readathon. I was able to read a significant number of pages, and it was really nice to just relax and spend the day focusing on reading. I would like to avoid napping next time, but that was a result of not sleeping well the night before, which wasn't really in my control.

Will you be continuing your readathon reading past the end of our official readathon?
Oh, definitely! I am planning to finish my current book this afternoon, and will continue reading this evening as well.

How many books did you read during this readathon? Did you have any favorites?
I'm claiming finishing 3 books even through I was 62% through Playing Mr. Perfect: Clay Braden (The Bradens at Ridgeport Book 1) by Melissa Foster when I started the readathon. My favorite may be ] Defending Allye by Susan Stoker because I found a new author and series to continue reading.

How many books did you finish? I'm claiming finishing 3 books even though I was 62% through the first book. I started Bridesmaid by Chance (Bridesmaid for Hire, #3) by Meghan Quinn which I will finish today.

Did you accomplish your goals for this readathon?
I had 6 books on my TBR list and started or completed 4 of 6 so I feel pretty good.

How did your snacks and meals work out? Are there things you would change about the food and beverages side of your readathon for next time?
I prepped my dinner, had sandwich fixings on hand, and my go-to snack is potato chips with my grandmother's chip dip which I had made.

Did you enjoy this readathon? What was the most successful part of your readathon? What would you change for next time?
I usually struggle with updates during the readathon. In the past, I posted my updates through The Book of Faces. This is the first time I participated on Goodreads and it is my preference. I found it much easier to post updates and participate in sprint/hourly discussions. However, it felt like sthere were fewer people participating here.
I'm just starting to use substack and wonder if that might be a broader forum?

Will you be continuing your readathon reading past the end of our official readathon?
Just my readathon continued when I got up this morning (since I fell asleep reading) and will continue until I finish this last book. Then I'll go back to life and do the dishes and clean the house.

Abbie (abbiedeacon) | 5 comments How many books did you read during this readathon? Did you have any favorites?
Finished 4 and 30% through a 5th! Really loved The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches. A cozy audiobook that helped fill the time I didn't want to eye-read!

Did you accomplish your goals for this readathon?
Im so proud of being able to focus on reading for so long! Pretty minimal distractions!

How did your snacks and meals work out? Are there things you would change about the food and beverages side of your readathon for next time?
I was shocked by how many beverages I consumed this Readathon, haha, and think I prepped the right amount of snacks. I should prep a low effort cheese board for some protein next time so I don't have to order food, and let myself get some candy for a sugar rush 😂

Did you enjoy this readathon? What was the most successful part of your readathon? What would you change for next time?
I LOVED this weekend. I haven't had a successful of a Readathon in years. In the past, I've attempted to do a getaway with others which is fun but not quite the same.

Will you be continuing your readathon reading past the end of our official readathon?
Yes! Hoping to finish the book I'm in the middle of and continue to read the short library books I got throughout the week
