Lucy was abducted by Amy/Tessa’s son Gideon. She herself was abducted by Martin Lendhart when she was eleven years old and he assaulted her for years, having her pose as his wife after she gave birth to Gideon. She ran away to save herself, leaving Gideon behind with his abusive father. Given her history, was Amy wrong to leave her son behind without seeking help following her escape or were her actions understandable given the years of abuse and manipulation? Is Gideon forever lost? What part of you believed Lucy might have already been dead when they found him?

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments There are several instances of kidnapped/abused persons not seeking help. They have been brainwashed to think they won't be believed. Her actions, sadly, were understandable. Gideon is likely lost forever. A very small part thought Lucy may already be dead, but I believed Gideon would have wanted to torture Amy/Tessa with that.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments I know this happens, but I can't help but wonder how a mother can escape abuse and leave a child behind. It is hard to understand the decisions some people make. I was hoping they would find Lucy alive.

I think Gideon is lost. His abuse was too much for him to handle.
