The Summer I Turned Pretty (Summer, #1) The Summer I Turned Pretty question

What Team are you, and why?

team Conrad all the way there is genuinely no debate and yes, I have read all three books (before I watched the show). Jeremaiah quite literally cheats on belly and then immediately love bombs her and proposes to get out of trouble and then is less then enthusiastic about their wedding and then ditches her on their wedding day. He also only started to like belly when she had a glow up, but Conrad has always loved her. That is my opinion based on the books. I fear the show made me even more anti- Jere he is so cringe. like "how come nobody wants to play with me" uh maybe because you are a weirdo and when belly told him that she and Conrad had gotten tg he goes great like my mom's ab to die like bro we know so is Conrads. don't play the victim.

Before I start this, I do have to say this was a 1 star for me so my opinion might not be good. Honestly, I am team jere because conrad and belly barely talked it was all about cam (i don't like cam) and jeremiah was just there. Honestly, I do not recommend this book because what was that

Team Jeremiah! Jeremiah’s sweet, funny, kind he’s perfect. Ik he cheated but still

Conrad is honestly the best in the 3rd book, but in books 1 and 2 Jere beats him. Conrad was just so mean to Belly for no reason (although I do think shes a pick me) and Jere was the only one who cared about her. But still Belly only wanted Conrad so I think that really hurt Jere AND Conrad in the end by weakening his relationship with his brother. Also Jeremiah cheated on Belly which is a huge no. They both tripped up but in the end Conrad made up for it more than Jere. (sorry to all jere fans).

I AM 1000% TEAM CONRAD!!! 💙✨

Conrad Fisher isn’t just my favorite—he’s the dream guy. He’s literally the cutest, most loyal, emotionally deep man in the entire universe. His love for Belly is real, raw, and so incredibly selfless. People love to say that in the first book he was cold or distant, but that’s such a surface-level take. The truth is—Conrad was going through hell. His mother was battling cancer, and he didn’t know how to express the storm of pain and fear inside him. That doesn't make him a jerk—it makes him human.

And let’s not forget: the book clearly says over and over that the Conrad we see during that summer isn’t his usual self. He’s hurting, and yet he still tries to protect Belly the only way he knows how.

In the second book, people love to hate on him for the breakup—but HELLO?? His mother’s funeral and the breakup were just 13 days apart. He was grieving, overwhelmed, and completely broken. Meanwhile, Belly acted impulsively and immaturely, not understanding what he was going through.

And finally… in the last book? Oh my GOD. Conrad isn’t fighting to “get her back.” He’s quietly, selflessly hoping she’ll find happiness—even if it isn’t with him. All he wants is for Belly to be loved the way she deserves. THAT is real love. That is maturity. That is Conrad Fisher.
