Discussion thread for I make envy on your disco!

This has been one of my very few 5 star books this year, but I read it before out list making started so I didn’t take notes on it. I think the feeling of trying to connect to a new place and create community somehow was really tangible. It was also pretty funny!

This was one of my very favorites of 2024. I felt like I had been on a trip to Berlin, loved the characters, lots of laughs. I may go back and read again for the tournament. I’m looking forward to the discussion!

Finished this yesterday and was sad that it was over. It was like one of those travel shows where they hit all the local hangouts instead of the touristy spots. (which I'm a sicker for) But also it's a beautiful book about finding your tribe in the most unexpected places.

I found Sam totally relatable in a bunch of ways. My only quibble is that he's 37. I guess we all hit our midlife crisis differently, but if they hadn't talked about his age constantly, I would have put him in his late 40s or early 50s.

It was a 5-star read and is one of my favorites this year.
