Anyone can nominate as many books as you'd like and look for a buddy! Any book that gets two nominations or more will have a buddy thread created for discussion during June. Please decide your start date and reading pace/reading goals in this thread. Once that has been decided, the mods will create a Buddy Read Discussion thread for that title. Reading the Buddy Read Guidelines is strongly recommended. There is no promise that you will have a buddy read for your nomination(s).

@Silver Elite @Sophie
yesss!! I'm so down for the first of the month. looks like it's 500+ pages according to goodreads, wanna try like 9-10 days? I don't have my hands on a copy yet though lol

message 11: by Katie (new)

Katie (love---katie) | 576 comments @Anushka, I'm in for Problematic Summer Romance!

Since it's out yet, it's hard to set up a reading schedule but we can guesstimate. I'm a pretty fast reader but not sure what your type of pace is. Goodreads says it's 416 pages, so if we budget 5 days that would be about 80-85 pages per day (if my math is right). Does that sound doable or do you want to stretch it out more/shorten it?

message 12: by Ela (Mouse333) (new)

Ela (Mouse333) | 199 comments @Katie, I'll read Blood Over Bright Haven with you, but I can only start after the 9th. Would that work for you?

message 13: by Anushka (new)

Anushka Malik (_anushkamalik) | 460 comments 5 days is perfectly doable @Katie. Looking forward to it!

message 15: by Brianna (new)

Brianna C | 1248 comments Here is what I am aiming to read in June so far:

The Hate U Give
Part of Your World

Brianna C | 1248 comments Juliane wrote: "@Brianna - I would like to join you for The Odyssey - I could start anytime in June"

It looks like there are 24 "books"/chapters in The Odyssey and the translation version I'm aiming to read (since it's the one I own) is around 526 pages so about 22 pages per "book". I was thinking of maybe doing a "book" a day so there's room in the month for catch up days? Maybe start on the 1st? This doesn't account for the introduction at the beginning that is like 100 pages or the notes at the end.

@silver elite @sophie that's perfect! thanks for making the schedule!

message 22: by Sarah-Vanessa (new)

Sarah-Vanessa | 492 comments @Peyton and @Brianna when would it work for you? I don’t have any other buddy reads so far, so I‘m flexible on the dates. How about a 7 day period to read it?

message 23: by Sarah-Vanessa (last edited May 18, 2025 01:40PM) (new)

Sarah-Vanessa | 492 comments @Juliane and @Anushka are you up to read The Prisoner’s Thronein June?

Of course everybody else who wants to join is invited as well. Just asked Juliane and Anushka because we buddy read the first book this month.

message 24: by Juliane (new)

Juliane | 343 comments @Brianna reg The Odyssey I've recently bought the audiobook of the Emily Wilson translation so we'll be discussing the same translation without issue. Starting on the 1st and one part per day through the month works for me, maybe starting with the introduction and then "chapter" 1 on the 2nd?

message 25: by Juliane (new)

Juliane | 343 comments @ Sarah-Vanessa reg. The Prisoner’s Throne I'll finish part one later today and am totally in for part two. How does splitting it over 10 days again sound? Maybe starting on the first weekend of the month, like 7th/8th? Although later in the month would be no problem for me either.

Sarah-Vanessa & Peyton RE: The Grandest Game

I have a hardcover and it looks to be 366 pages so 7 days would be about 52 pages a day so that works for me! I am also flexible on dates.

I would be willing to read those two with you! Do you have a preference on time frame or how long to read them across? Ideally not in the first week for me since I already have a couple reads planned.

Hello, thank you Sarah-Vanessa and Sophie ! I'm glad to be able to tackle this book with you !

Just a heads up, I'm backpacking until the 18th but I can follow the schedule. I think it's doable since I have quite a few hours on the train. So sounds good to me! :)
