It's time for our June Group Read nominations.
The theme in a minute, after a few rules reminders.
- Previous group reads are NOT eligible. Before nominating, a book, please check Post #2 on this thread or the link below for all previously read books.
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
- AUTHORS may NOT nominate their own books.
- The top 2 vote getters in the poll will be our reads for June.
- Books that receive the most +1s are more likely to make the final poll.

And now for the fun. As spring gives way to summer, we're looking for books with BOTANICAL/FUNGAL horror - plots involving or prominently featuring: plants, trees, flowers, mushrooms/fungi.
So give us your best suggestions for horror involving things that grow.

Homegrown Comeuppance by Rowland Bercy Jr.

This one fits the theme perfectly, unfortunately its only 39 pages and probably don't suffice as a group read alone.
It's featured in the anthology Baker's Dozen, but as the anthology's throne is bakery, I'm not convinced it fit's either in its own.

Not eligible as it was a previous group read, and doesn't meet the theme. Please fully read the first 2 posts before nominating.

Cold Storage by David Koepp Cold Storage
I'm reading this book now and it has a fungus mostly from outer space. It's not a bad story but beware of all the unnecessary filler and backstory that just take up too many pages.

Also these two books that I think might fit the theme.
Monstrosity by Tim Curran Monstrosity and Point Nemo by Jeremy Robinson Point Nemo

+1 Cold Storage. I learned about it recently and thought it sounded good :) I don't mind a backstory.

I nominate And the Trees Crept In And the Trees Crept In by Dawn Kurtagich

The Ghost Tree The Ghost Tree by Christina Henry

Do these fit the theme?

And the Trees Crept In I would say definitely meets the theme, as the encroaching woods is a key factor.
The other one, I'll need more clarification if anyone has read it, as all the summaries and reviews I read say there's something IN the woods, but not that it's necessarily tree(s) that is/are the horror.

But even if the second one ends up not qualifying, it was a good suggestion.

Thanks for clarifying. It didn't seem to fit the them, but I wasn't positive. Being it's the middle of a trilogy (probably)would have disqualified it anyway.
