30.6 Kmaried's Task - Catching Up On Series

The majority of books I read seem to be parts of series, especially in the last few years. I have 3 TBR lists on GR dedicated to this: series-new, series-next, and series-tbr. As I read them, the books get sorted into the next list so I don't have to always go to the series page to see where I am. I like to read series in order.

One of my goals for this season is to see how many of these I can get off my series-next list. So, this task is going to focus on series books.

This is a two-book task. Choose two different options and read 1 book for each option. Books must come from 2 different series.
Series must appear on the GR main book page. Whole numbers only.
Required State the options

Option A: Get caught up in a series. Read the current last published book in a series of at least 3 books. This can be the last one published before the season started (June 1, 2025). One that is published in the current season is eligible, but not required since new books are sometimes hard to get in a timely fashion.

Option B: I have copied my series-next list onto another shelf for this task since the original will change throughout the season. Choose a book from my Series-SRCSummer shelf. Read that book or one in the same series.
Required: State the original book picked if reading another in the series shelf.

Option C: Make progress on a series you have already started. Read a book that is #3 or above but not the last published book in the series.

Can I use a book that is #4.5 in the series for option 3, or does it need to be a whole number?

To be specific I'm looking at The Wind Through the Keyhole.

All books need to be whole numbers only.

I have a book that is currently the last published book in the Armand Gamache series The Grey Wolf, but there is a planned release of the next one for this series in October. So not sure if I use option A or C for this one since it's kind of the last but not really, assuming all goes as predicted in the publishing world.

As you said, you never know what will happen in the publishing world. This book works for option A since it is the current last book published in the series and the next one hasn't been published yet. Hopefully it won't be the last, but it currently is.

I have added the word published to the task to clarify this better.

It also works for option B since I have one of that series on my series-srcsummer shelf.

For option B:
In this case is "0" counted as a whole number, since it isn't "point something?"
Specifically, I'm looking at Bookshops & Bonedust

Yes, for the purposes of this task, I consider "0" a whole number. Just not anything "point something" like "0.5" or "4.5".

A Vow of Embers- Does this book work for option A - it is released today. There is a 3rd book expecting to be published but it is not showing on GR. It is showing on Amazon however

I'm sorry, that book won't work. The series needs to have 3 books published and there are only 2 books right now. If the 3rd book was the one released, then your book would have been eligible since there were 3 published books and the 2nd one would have been the last one published before this season started.
