Play Book Tag discussion

This is the follow up to Dear Mrs Bird following Emmy Lake and her friends and colleagues as they live through the Blitz, and this book is just as charming as I remember the first one being. Emmy has now become a wartime advice columnist, and her relationship with Charles is becoming stronger and stronger. We also see Bunty trying to re-build her life following the end of the previous book. A lot of the plot of this book revolves around the women who have stepped up to work in jobs that help the war effort, and which would previously have been done by men, and the struggles they have combining this work with their roles as mothers, especially due to the lack of childcare options. I found this a very interesting plot point, and I liked how much time Emmy spent with these women, and others outside of the magazine.
