I wanted to share something personal — Our Time, a dystopian love story I wrote that’s set in a near-future world where time has become the greatest divider. In this world, the wealthy live well into their nineties while the poor — known as “Rats” — are stamped, tracked, and expire young. The system is rigged. But amidst all this, two people fall in love, and that love becomes a quiet rebellion.
Though set in a dystopia, this story is grounded in very real themes — inequality, surveillance, and the ways in which systems quietly determine our worth. It was originally developed as a feature film and was in motion with A-list talent during COVID — but like many things in that era, the project stalled. Rather than let the story disappear, I adapted it into a novel.
If you're interested in how a near-Hollywood film became a book instead, I wrote the full journey here:
It’s been read by over 700 people already — maybe you’ll relate if you’ve ever had to pivot on a dream. Would love to hear your thoughts or connect with anyone writing near-future, dystopian, or socially-driven fiction.
