Jen (jentrewren) | 1114 comments I didn't really like or identify with any of these women in the first half of the book but absolutely could understand all their different perspectives in their cancer journey. I understand Samantha just wanting it all gone, I understand her wanting to help others and to talk to others going through the same thing. I understand Brooke wanting to keep it to herself and not tell her husband because she didn't want to be pushed to do something she didn't want and also wouldn't want him to look at her differently. I understand Katherine not noticing the lump because she was too busy being busy due to all the hurt and I understand her not wanting to burden others with her illness. None of these women had a life anything like mine but all of them made choices I could understand. I also got to cry with them for the first time since my own cancer journey started which was probably needed even if it was a bit close for comfort at times. I am envious of how efficient their treatment was and how fast they got from mammogram to treatment, but I have something none of them seemed to; wonderful friends who have been there and provided moral support. I may not have much in life, but I do have wonderful friends and can't imagine going through this journey with just a cancer chat group like these women did.

Jason Oliver | 3046 comments I’m glad this was able to resonate with you in a positive and intimate way. Yes, this isn’t a literary masterpiece or even the best story, but the experiences and perspectives feel authentic.
