Josie and the team search the caverns for the hermit who Maya claimed abducted her and fathered her son. They capture him and when they cite the charge, he has strange reaction but then immediately asks for a lawyer. Anything odd here in the moment? What did you make of him?

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments I didn't doubt Maya's version of what happened. After we got a little more information, I became a little suspicious. Maya and the baby were both healthy and well fed. It didn't track that she had been living in a cavern and eating off the land for very long.

I was surprised he would ask for a lawyer right away and not talk at all. I guess I expected him not to be very smart and a little looney.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments I was surprised that he asked for a lawyer so quickly. It made me think something strange was going on. I felt like a hermit wouldn't jump to a lawyer, but talk to Josie to get back to his cave quicker.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments When we learn he killed his wife, asking for a lawyer and not talking to Josie made perfect sense. He learned a lot from his prior involvement with the justice system

His reaction had my senses on alert. It wasn’t so much him asking for a lawyer immediately but the reaction to the news that Maya accused him of rape. He seemed genuinely surprised and it was a quick, unguarded moment. It gave me pause.
