Come November 21st Wicked Part Two will be in theaters. I assume it will eventually go to Peacock, like its predecessor did.
Storyline After challenging the Wizard's totalitarian regime in Oz, Elphaba must grapple with her identity as the "Wicked Witch of the West". Meanwhile, the Wizard has given Glinda the title "Glinda the Good" and a public status as the nation's defender against Elphaba. The two witches must make decisions that seal their fates in this second musical installment.
Trivia Wicked first announced it was to be split into two films in April 2022, with composer Stephen Schwartz explaining: "The truth is we tried for some time to make it one movie (which) required us cutting or omitting things that we wanted to include that we think fans of the show and the story will appreciate." He added "We found it very difficult to get past 'Defying Gravity' without a break. That song is written specifically to bring a curtain down, and whatever scene to follow it without a break just seemed hugely anti-climactic."
Stephen Schwartz has written 2 brand new musical numbers that will be featured in "Wicked: Part Two".
