1. Favorite character???? You are making me choose???? If I must, it might be either Jakim or Finnian.
2. Sev is so annoying lol. And Sahak is downright diabolical (though I can kinda understand why he's the way he is.)
3. (view spoiler)[ Rafi getting captured at the end because I love him and don't want him tortured or worse. OR him lying as long as he did to Ceridwen about his identity. (hide spoiler)]
4. (view spoiler)[ Even though I spoiled it for myself, it was still shocking. HOW in the world is Delmar still alive???? And will Rafi be able to save him???????? (hide spoiler)]
5. Despite being annoyed with the characters in the beginning (I love them and hate watching them make stupid decisions lol) the book turned out SO GOOD and I think it is an amazing sequel to the first book. Need the third one now!!!!

Yes, choosing a favorite is so hard with these books!

Ahhh! Jakim really came into his own, didn't he? He's not a favorite, but I do love him. (I love them all!)

Sev. Yeah, he's a tough one. I can understand his frustration, though.

Definitely agree with your answers to #3 & 4.

Jakim really did! He went from being my least favorite to my favorite, which is an impressive feat for a fictional character. 😂

Yeah, I understand why Sev acts the way he does, but that doesn't keep me from disliking him XD.

There are so, so many, it's hard to choose! But I am going to go with Rafi for this installment.

Amazing, but shocking!

Absolutely loved it!

In this one, I would probably say Rafi because he grows so much as a character! (view spoiler)[ At the end, when he says "I'm done with running" and then protects Ceridwen, it was absolutely epic, and I was impressed with how Rafi had grown as a character (hide spoiler)]

3. If you could change one part of the book, what would it be? (Spoiler?)
(view spoiler)[ I agree with Jessica about Rafi keeping his identity hidden for so long - there were several opportunities that I really thought he would take advantage of but then he let them slip away. Also, Ceridwen's response when she finally found out about Rafi. I really believed Ceridwen would be more charitable to someone who had proved his character, even if he is related to murderous individuals (hide spoiler)]

4. What did you think of the ending? (Spoiler tags, please!)
I was happy that several loose ends were tied up, but was completely taken off guard by the final bit!

5. What was your overall opinion?
I really enjoyed this one! I believe I liked it better than the first book - the first one had more direct combat, which I don't enjoy reading as much. Also, the character development in this one was some of the best character development I have read - masterful shifting of how major and minor characters approach difficulty and grow as people.

Ceridwen, Rafi, or Finnian. I love them all equally.

2. Who was your least favorite character?
Sahak. Period. That guy is an evil genius and I hate him.

3. If you could change one part of the book, what would it be? (Spoiler?)

A GREAT book! I love it! And, I'm really looking forward to book 2 now.

Still Rafi! His sense of humor really helped lighten the heavy mood of the book.


2. Who was your least favorite character?

I don’t think I can choose. There were soooo many characters to dislike. I will say that at first, I thought I was going to like both Nef and Glyndwr better in this book. Nope.



3. If you could change one part of the book, what would it be? (Spoiler?)

It was kind of frustrating that, just like in book 1, Jakim got recaptured only a little while after escaping. It didn’t even seem like it accomplished anything for the plot. (Other than Finnian getting wounded, but that could’ve easily happened without an escape attempt.) I know it’s not a big deal, but so help me, if Jakim gets captured AGAIN in book 3, I will definitely be rolling my eyes. 😆

It was exciting! And that last scene… 😱


5. What was your overall opinion?

I enjoyed this one more than the first! I don’t think the plot was necessarily better, but I felt like I got to know the world and the characters a lot better!
