Alyssa (lyssiepop1) | 35 comments This book was INCREDIBLE! Dare I say it’s the closest I’ve gotten to the feeling of reading a dystopian done as beautifully as The Hunger Games in quite a while.

I thought one of the hooks of “what did she do?!” was so good. I, likely like the reader was supposed to do, assumed that Viv betrayed Sophie to save from becoming third class herself…. Learning the kicker of the truth, I understand why the author kept it from us. I for sure would’ve closed the book had it been revealed at the beginning. I thought it was such a beautiful look at that internal battle of doing the right thing for yourself and your loved ones vs doing what’s best for society that’s raging on in today’s society. It really makes you think.

The ending of the novel was so bittersweet but I shed a tear. For Truman’s to bring Atlas back home was so beautiful and the perfect ending of the book.

I also really liked this book! I thought the story was beautifully written. I am so sad that it was just published this year, now I don't know how long we have to wait for the next one.

Emily Rigdon | 18 comments Finally finished this book! Didn’t realize it was the start of a series, so now we have to wait months for the next installment.

I’ll admit, I did not see Atlas’s death coming. I’m still kind of in shock, because I’m so used to romantasy that killing off the love interest is shocking. I will admit I was thrilled that Marquis was a cousin and there was no forced love triangle trope.
I also thought Ralph would end up being a rebel, as well. You know, acting like an ass for his cover.
I am looking forward to book 2, and getting some answers!
