Hi Everyone,

The winner of the vote for the June 2025 Book of the Month is: The Plague by Albert Camus

We are starting a bit late, but it is not a very long book, so there should be enough time to get through it by the end of the month. We can always look at extending it if there is enough interest. Here is a suggested reading schedule:

It looks like there are five parts, so I will subdivide it that way:

Part 1: June 10 - 22 Chapters 1-8 Pages 5-49
Part 2: June 23 - July 6 Chapters 9-17 Pages 53-123 
Part 3: July 7 - July 13 Chapter 18 Pages 129-143
Part 4: July 14 - 23 Chapters 19-25 Pages 147-203
Part 5: July 24 - 31 Chapters Final Chapter Pages 207-237

I have enjoyed reading The Fall and The Stranger (L'Étranger) before and wanted to read this one as well. My understanding is that this novel was especially poignant during the pandemic.

Hi All,

Just a warning - I bought two different kindle versions of The Plague from amazon last night and they were both unreadable. Once was just basically photos of the actual pages in the book and the other seems to be photos of the pages of random books that were turned 90 degrees. I returned them for refund and just wanted to let everyone know that if you buy a Kindle book, and it is total garbage, you can go to your orders -> digital orders -> find the book in the list and there should be a option to return for refund.

I got a sample of this kindle book ($11.80 seems hight for a kindle book to me) to get started reading while I figure out if I can get it at a library:

Hi All,

We have decided that the reading schedule for this is too tight, so this will be the Book of the Month for July as well. I have updated the schedule above. I think that should make for better summer casual reading.

I went to the library and picked up my book today. Enjoy Reading, 📚

I started reading a few days ago but my version of the book doesn’t have chapters. Only parts. I am 10 pages away from finishing part 1 though.

This is a good read. It reads very much similar to what happen during COVID-19. The characters were very well developed. Below is my review:
