BOOKSTAGRAM! discussion

With the book launch me and my family did numerous TV, Radio, Podcasts etc.. Our true life story of me, a whistleblower in Russia to hiding out and escaping to the remote Australian bush gets a deep emotional reaction. Recently I was stopped on the street, in my local town, a lady who read my book said "it stayed with her for a long time." I felt that it meant the story was to emotionally tough. Is this going to stop people buying the book? Who wants to read an emotionally draining book?
