Hello Cozy Book Nook! I just wanted to announce my new moderator read I will be hosting will be One Night with a Cowboy! I would like to invite you all to join this if you would like! I plan on starting this one tomorrow and let’s make this fun!

Hello everyone! I just wanted to let you know we will be starting this book TODAY! We will start by reading the first 3 chapters and you can either discuss as you go, or you can read the chapters and then once your finished you can share thoughts. Whatever works best for you!

Let's have fun and discuss this as we go but be respectful of other people's opinions.

Chapter 1- (thoughts/mini summary)

Weston Harding is a very well known bull fighter in his hometown. He is also well known for doing his job correctly in the rodeo circuit. With the screaming fans in the stands, he knows that he needs his whole focus on the arena and doesn't matter who he is trying to impress, he knows that since his father is not here to support and has passed away, he needs to make his father proud of his every move. Bull fighting is just as dangerous as bull riding and Wes's childhood he struggled alot but managed to get through.

His little sister June is 30 weeks pregnant and her husband is a professional bull rider and his competing in Texas this weekend at a rodeo. He takes his responsibility to protect riders very seriously and he knows that one bad move can result in a serious injury. Well Wes just got promoted to Team Lead and his boss wants him to leave for Oklahoma in 3 weeks and be the Team Lead bull fighter. June is having contractions as Wes immediately rushes her to the clinic to see what is going on.

June claims that it was Braxton hicks but the doctor said she was pretty much in active labor at 30 weeks pregnant. Toby is out of town and is not near his wife's side at the moment but Wes knows that he can't stay at the ranch and take over the events because his job requires him to travel.

Wes's boss Craig knows that he will not take this information well and Wes has been working years for this position.

Thoughts-

June is obviously not the brightest but Wes is also very protective of his younger sister. Toby has a very dangerous job and in all honesty he should be by his wife's side as June is in 3rd trimester.... things like this could happen anywhere and luckily there was a clinic not to far away but June didn't want to be in active labor but that's not her choice. Doctors are trying to stop the labor but they want to fly her to the Denver airport just in case if the baby comes, it will be in NICU for a few weeks.

Absolute worst timing for her to go into labor and I feel bad but it's not her fault and anything can happen. Her being on bed rest will suck for her husband because he wouldn't want to miss seeing his child being born if labor can't be stopped. Thea reserved the ranch for a week but now June can't be there and she is trying to find someone who can be at the ranch......

Chapter 2- (thoughts/mini summary)

Thea Davis was very much a perfectionist and always tried to make herself look better. She was in the process of making the cake for the Colorado trip but she is a single mother with a daughter and son. Olivia is boy crazy and Ryan is a momma's boy who is very polite. Olivia is 13 years old and has some sass for sure! Thea had been volunteering at the Project Sanctuary for years now and her husband Dylan was in the military before he passed away. Every year she looks forward to hosting this huge presentation for families who have loved ones in the military and how to cope with it while they are on deployment.

Thea and Dylan didn't really have a wonderful marriage and when he came home from deployment all he would do is complain about things around the house. Thea is a social worker who deals with a lot of kids and is very very busy. She tries to spend the most time with her kids and her kids also look forward to this trip every year. Her daughter Olivia doesn't really like the presentation but he goes for the boys....

Right before Dylan had passed Thea had been talking about them getting a divorce which makes her feel guilty and her son will refuse to talk about his dad. He doesn't like it and Thea has tried to get her son help but he won't take it. The first family arrives and Olivia doesn't seen happy until the boys arrive because she sees Preston who is attractive to her. The Hershberger's have 2 boys and now she might be able to come around and show herself....... Her son on the other hand is very very excited to be able to teach others how to fish.

Kelly and Thea had became great friends and often hung out when they needed some girl time.

Thoughts-

Thea obviously looks forward to this retreat just like her son, but her daughter seems to only care for the boys... I don't know if I am going to like Olivia...... Seems to me that she is really boy crazy.....

I cant believe Thea would be talking about her husband like that to Kelly. He served in the military and I will say I don't like Dylan either. Thea had been taking care of the kids but her husband gives her no credit for that? Like seriously dude? Thea is not ready to start dating again and that's complete fine.

I would not be able to have a husband that is in the military... That would scare me to death and I would be a wreck dealing with everything and not being able to see my husband no thanks. Some people can do that but I would never be able to.....

Olivia seems very snotty as well but I don't know if I would trust her..... obviously she is hiding her phone and texting someone but won't let her mom see....... I don't blame Thea, she paid money for her kids to enjoy this ranch for a week and she is not paying for it so her daughter can be glued to the damn phone.

Chapter 3- (thoughts/mini summary)

Thea and her kids had arrived one day early at the ranch. The whole car ride her kids had been arguing and fighting over the music etc. She was hoping her kids would be attached to their phones the whole car ride as she figured things out on the ranch. They had just pulled up and Ryan was impressed with the way things looked and was excited to get straight to fishing but they needed to figure some things out first.

Well Thea wasn't aware that Jane had been in preterm labor so Wes was taking over since she wasn't able to be there. She was very excited to see her friend but was not happy that Wes took over. When she arrived Wes had been playing volleyball on the beach with his friends..... Wes doesnt' recall meeting Thea at the wedding last October.

They are now getting settled and Wes will handle things just perfectly! Olivia is trying to set her mother up with Wes but she is not having it and she is not here to find love.

Thoughts-

I feel bad for Thea because Jane never called her to let her know what was going on and that she was in labor. But again, when your in active labor your not worried about anything besides what is going on..... Thea needs to be happy that they didn't reschedule and she should have called before they left.

Wes's family owns the ranch so she has no right to be pissed off that he's playing volleyball on his property... Olivia is going to drive me insane and she knows her mom is not looking for a relationship but the fact that she jokes about it all the time....... I don't know.....

I think seeing the old town and how is was Western and Modern is making Thea realize that she will never be able to own a ranch like this. It's not easy work and she needs to understand that.

Chapter 4-

Wes had been getting ready to walk into the kitchen to talk to Louise about the food for the retreat. Wes agreed to take the assignment and promised his sister that he would have this under control and nothing would happen. Toby had sent him a list of allergies and all the schedules that Jane had made and wanted him to follow for the retreat.

Jane was told by doctors that they will be keeping her on bed rest but they were able to stop the labor as of right now but it was wayyyy to soon for her to have the baby and she needs to focus on resting while she is getting ready to have the baby. She can't sleep with them going in and out of the room. Thea and the kids arrived yesterday and Wes didn't know that she was arriving a day early but she wasn't happy when she saw him and his friends on the beach having a party.....

She never called or sent a text to Jane letting her know the plan so that's her fault and her getting pissed off is stupid. Jane debated on calling their older brother August to come home since Wes needed to leave for the rodeo here in 2 days. August and Wes were really close as brothers when they were younger and lived at home.

August doesn't approve of Wes and the whole rodeo circuit idea. Their oldest brother was not trustworthy or reliable at all. He would always smack talk his brother for going out drinking and going to parties all the time but he also made mistakes when he was younger and has no right to fucking talk. Louise was the kitchen helper their dad hired once the business got booming on the farm. She is the best cook and will provide an amazing meal for the guests.

So Wes was walking out to get Thea and her kids and tell them breakfast was ready. Wes sees a kayak in the middle of the lake and assumes that one of his friends left if on the lake but he sees Thea's little boy Ryan in the middle of the lake by himself fishing and falls in the freezing cold water but of course Thea is still inside the cabin sleeping. Wes had no choice but to drag the boy back to the shore and get the boy back inside before his mom found him with no supervision.

Thea needs to pay better attention to her son. It's no one else's job to pay attention to her kid. But Ryan should have also waited until his mom woke up so nothing would have happened. If that little boy would have drowned Thea would have NEVER known her son was gone if Wes didn't bring the boy back to shore. (view spoiler)[ (hide spoiler)] (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 5-

Thea normally wakes up before her kids and makes sure they are up and alert before people show up. Well she is on vacation and she slept in late and didn't wake up till 8:30am. As she wakes herself up and her daughter she notices that her son is not in the top bunk bed and her daughter doesn't want to wake up either. Thea starts panicking looking all over the cabin for her son and realizes that her son probably woke up early and went out fishing because he was excited.

She bolts out the cabin with no bra on and in in her pajamas as she smacks into Wes on her way out. Her son is standing behind him and she is very surprised that her son is okay. Wes had to tell her that he saved her son from drowning in the lake when he saw the canoe out in the middle of the lake. Thea knew that in that moment this was special and even though her son was honest about going into the lake, he knew he wasn't suppose to unless there was adult supervision. She is just as much at fault because she didn't know where her own son was and the fact that a complete stranger had to take over didn't look good on her.

Wes told her that there was no issue here and that he was glad to help and protect her son from drowning. Wes knew that her son was excited and he doesn't have kids so he doesn't understand that punishment has to happen for him to learn a lesson. If he would have done that at 10 years old his father would have punished him too so it makes sense....

Wes walks into the lodge and Louise is confused because she doesn't know where he was and he tells her what happened and Louise doesn't believe him for a second but Thea deserves to sleep in once in a while and managing this whole retreat is not easy. But what happens when he gets a text from his boss Craig saying that he needs to meet at the rodeo grounds...

Pretty much long story short is he has a choice to make and that is to either stay and help manage this ranch retreat or he can take this job opportunity that he has been working for so hard and go to Texas next weekend as the Team Lead bullfighter. His boss had been a bullfighter and warned Wes that this is not a opportunity that gets offered very often. What will his choice be? (view spoiler)[ (hide spoiler)] (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 6-

Thea had made her son row her in the canoe across the lake with more weight than she thought he could handle. Thea's son was all about Wes and Thea knew that her son was about to get heart broken because Thea would not consider falling in love on the trip. Well Thea and her kids had a huge water gun fight right before Wes showed up at the ranch again. Thea let her guard down and was trying to spend quality time with her kids before everyone showed up. Well of course Olivia was tanning and minding her own when Thea gave her son permission to spray her to get her up and active.

Wes had been gone all morning and Thea had been on the phone with Jane right before he got back and told her that Jane feels terrible for not being able to be there but Thea knows that her friend needs to focus on relaxing and preparing for the baby to be here. The less stress on Jane right now the better. But what happens when everyone is now shown up at the lodge ready to this retreat and Wes has totally changed the schedule without alerting Thea.

Thea is not happy because Wes has connections and went behind her back without letting her know but what Thea had planned didn't really sound appealing to the kids. Wes has a friend who is a camp counselor and has decided to take the kids one night so the adults can adventure out and relax and their will be rock climbing, building a float, actually being a part of the parade which the kids would enjoy....

Fishing on the ranch, swimming and canoeing was still on the schedule but it was more kid friendly and Thea doesn't understand that. (view spoiler)[ (hide spoiler)] (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 7-

Wes is now in the state of shock because he knows that there is an attraction between Thea and him. He has been wanting to have a private conversation with her since people arrived but keeps missing his chances. Ryan keeps trying to sneak away and spend every waking moment with Wes but inside his mind he knows that he needs to stick to a schedule and he feels like if his sister was to show up she would not be happy with the way the retreat is going..... Well Wes is now in a mood when he sees his older brother August show up as he is getting the fire ready for smores.

August left the ranch house and broke the family bond years ago but he didn't realize that he would ever step foot on the ranch again. Wes and August are workaholics and rarely do they take time off. August is not reliable but thinks he is better than everyone else. He gets on to his brother because he sees him checking Thea out and knows that if Jane found out she would not be happy.

The kids are now revved up with sugar from the smores and Wes is going around picking trash up from the beach so they don't get bears on the ranch. But as he is picking up trash....... he hears giggling from Olivia who has snuck off with Preston...... but Wes catches her vaping and he instantly knows that if Thea knew her daughter was vaping and now her daughter is getting in trouble..... this is not good. < spoiler> (hide spoiler)]

I will say I don't like August because he seems like he is better than everyone else and Wes didn't even have notice that his brother was showing up. Jane knew that Wes was offered a promotion that night of the rodeo and wanted August to take over so Wes could leave and take the promotion.

There is already tension between Wes and Thea but I will say Thea is proving that she is not watching her kids very closely because Wes just caught Thea's daughter sneaking off with a boy and vaping..... .HOW ARE YOU NOT KEEPING TRACK OF YOUR OWN KID?

Her son almost drowned in the lake because she wasn't watching her son, and now her daughter is sneaking off with boys and vaping... who knows if her 13 year daughter did anything else......

Chapter 8-

Thea has been sitting around the campfire enjoying herself and talking amongst her friends. Kelly was telling a story to everyone while the kids were playing and getting along. She couldn't remember the last time her family had such a wonderful family vacation and getting together with friends and family was a gift. But Wes had tapped her on the shoulder and wanted to speak to her about the plans in the schedule for tomorrow and was bringing her to Olivia so she could tell her mom what happened.

Thea swore that she heard her daughter less than 20 minutes ago but Wes told her that she was not over there with all the other kids like she was suppose to. Wes has confronted Olivia and said that she probably shouldn't be sneaking off with boys and vaping. Olivia brought the vape pen because she wanted to impress the boys at the retreat and Olivia and Thea have had multiple talks about what vaping can do to your lungs.

Apprently Thea grew up in a very very strict household. Her parents when she lived at home would NEVER let her go to parties, drink, or be alone with men. Once Thea had left for college she was more in control of her life but he never really had a good marriage with Dylan. She had gotten pregnant at a young age and married as well to Dylan. Yes Thea wants her daughter to have fun in life but she can't be making those decisions and not learn her lesson.

Thea took her daughters phone away in front of Wes and now Olivia is claiming she doesn't want anything to do with the retreat until the damn thing is over. Now I do have a feeling that there are probably some inappropriate text messages on the cell phone but again it's the fact that Wes caught her daughter and Thea is not keeping track of her own kids. At this point in the book, Thea and Wes have kissed and I don't know how I feel about it seriously. I truly feel like Thea is not holding her end of taking care of her kids. Apparently her daughter wanted to impress the boys at the retreat which is why she brought the vape pen in the first place..... So Olivia is now pissed off because she got her phone taken and wants nothing to do with this retreat till it's over.

Not everyone is perfect and Thea is trying to get her to understand that Thea didn't have freedom when she was living at home. Her parents were waaaaaaaay stricter than she was. Thea got married and pregnant at a young age but Olivia doesn't want to live a boring life like her mom.

Sitting around the campfire is all nice but when you can't keep track of your own fucking kid and I don't believe that that Preston kid didn't smoke the pen....... but I will say it would have been worse if her daughter snuck around and was having sex at 13..... Thea is not doing her job and it's pissing me off that Wes is seeing all this stuff but Thea doesn't care....

Chapter 9-

Thea obviously didn't sleep last night and was up all night thinking about the kiss she had with Wes. She is on her 3rd cup of coffee and her son had caught her talking to herself and was excited for the big day of going on the boat and tubing. She should have never kissed him and let her guard down because Wes has a job to leave to and August is now taking over because apparently Wes is leaving sometime today to head down to Texas. Thea is still very upset with her daughter and she has a conversation with her letting her know that her phone will not be given back to her for the remainder of the trip.

Olivia wakes up in a good mood and Thea walks into the lodge for breakfast and her son is already helping out and jumping in to help wherever is needed. Ryan is not going to be happy when he finds out that Wes is leaving..... Thea won't be able to flirt with Wes anymore and the rest of the group walks in and Kelly claims that Thea should make a move but she knows better than to do that because her son is already going to be heart broken when he doesn't get that fishing trip that Wes promised him...... This insta love is about to make me sick....... Thea has been up all night thinking about the kiss and they are suppose to be going on the boat and tubing today but from what Wes's brother August is saying, Wes is leaving sometime today because he has work to do. Olivia wakes up in a good mood and obviously doesn't care that her mom is taking her phone and she apologizes for what she said last night but I still think she is going to sneak out anyway.

They are in the lodge about to eat some breakfast when she is finding out the information about Wes. Thea won't have to worry about flirting with him but the fact that she is claiming she is going to sleep while everyone is out boating since she didn't sleep last night......

Ryan is going to be soooooo pissed when Wes leaves and that fishing trip doesn't happen. I honestly don't think Thea and Wes would be a good couple because Wes would never be home to help with the kids and Thea is definitely not a country girl at all......

Chapter 10-

Wes had been working on the boat motor all morning getting it ready so the families could be tubing and boating. Families were on the beach playing volleyball and Ryan, Timothy, Thea, and Kelly had gotten on the boat to go tubing. Wes had promised that he wasn't going to go insane since there was a little boy on the boat. Timothy backed out because he was scared but Thea went with her son and both of them did fabulous job!

Wes could not stop staring at Thea and her hot pink bathing suite was hugging her curves in the perfect way. Thea was not looking forward to tubing but she knew her son wanted to go really bad and sucked it up. They ended up falling off but everyone was okay and had a fun time. Thea wasn't looking forward to tubing with her son but Timothy had backed down and was scared. Wes couldn't stop staring at Thea the whole time while he was driving the boat but both of them did amazing and Wes was shocked that not alot of people joined the boat ride.

Thea loves her kids and everyone can see that but Ryan had a blast and that's all the matters. I just went tubing yesterday and it' s soooooo much fun!

Chapter 11-

Thea and Ryan had just got back into the boat and Thea had a towel wrapped around and the wind made it a little nippy. The boat doesn't have enough gas to keep tubing people and lunch was just about ready so Wes took everyone back onto the beach area. Ryan is sooooo attached to Wes that Thea is now concerned for her son that he is going to get his heart broken once Wes leaves for Texas. Thea was pissed off because Wes was going to leave her son broken hearted but Thea also knows that he has to do what he needs to do. She didn't come here to find love anyway and needs to focus on leading the retreat and not making out and impressing Wes. Well Wes had told Ryan that he could help him but the boat away and then he would need to go inside and eat some lunch.

Thea went back inside to shower and get ready but Kelly had saw the way Wes was looking at Thea the whole time while they were boating. She had been taking pictures while he was driving and now Thea has caught Ryan talking to Wes about his father Dylan passing away and Ryan feels like his dad is mad at him. This little boy NEVER expresses his feelings towards anyone and Thea eavesdrops as she hears Ryan talking to Wes about it and this is not something Ryan needs to be discussing with a stranger since Wes is not going to be going home with them after the retreat. Ryan (Thea's son) is attached to Wes. Wes had just brought everyone back onto the beach because the boat needs gas and lunch is almost ready. Thea and Kelly are talking and Kelly can sense that Wes is a very kind cowboy and Thea doesn't want to mention the kiss between them but there is tension and she can feel it. Kelly had been taking pictures on the boat and Wes was staring at Thea the whole time.

Thea had gave her son permission to help Wes put the boat back up but after she came back out they needed to go eat some lunch. Thea was not expecting to eavesdrop on Wes and her son but she had heard her son talking to Wes about his dad Dylan. Thea had gave up on finding love after Dylan passed and he always would come home and be pissed and never would spend time with the kids like he promised. Thea was not here at this retreat to find love and claims that her son ends to stop talking to Wes about Dylan. Wes is still a stranger and Thea is calling friends with boundaries to Wes.

I honestly think Thea is just jealous because Ryan doesn't chat with Thea that much about his dad. Thea also called it off because she is pissed that Wes is leaving the retreat and is trying to protect her son at the same time from getting heart broken when Wes leaves to go to Texas for the rodeo.

Chapter 12-

Wes and the crew had been working on the parade float all day since the parade is tomorrow. The kids have had a blast all day making props and getting their costumes ready and in the spot for tomorrow. Wes is now very confused because Thea told him that they are just "friends with boundaries" and he seems but hurt about it because August told Thea that he was leaving for the rodeo in Texas and Wes was pissed the fuck off because he wasn't planning on going. Thea had asked if she needed someone to help watch the kids on the parade but everything went fine. This parade is a huge thing in the town and people will travel over the country to make it. But after the parade is done Toby calls Wes and tells him that Jane is now sick and they are going to have to pretty much take the baby out right now.

August said he might be moving back to the ranch depending on if his business opens back up. August and Wes used to be close when they were younger but now August doesn't like how Wes is constantly on the go but yet wants to eyeball Thea likes she is candy.... She has kids and would never see him let alone the kids would never see him and all it would be is long distance. (view spoiler)[ (hide spoiler)] (hide spoiler)]

Thea keeps asking Wes if he needs help with things and she is the one who called it off and Wes seems to be a little butt hurt about this whole thing but August pissed Wes off even more because he told Thea and the whole retreat that Wes was leaving because he had to go to work. I agree with Wes, August should have asked his brother before he told other people.

Thea and Wes are now being awkward because boundaries are laid and after this retreat Thea and her kids are going back to Texas..... Wes on the other hand gets the wagon ready for tomorrow and the horses prepped but this parade is a massive event and people will travel just to be part of it!

But after the parade ends and they are all at the festival with the kids, Wes gets a call from Toby (Jane's husband) that Jane is sick and they are going to have to take the baby out since she is sick..... Thea was talking to Wes before he took the call......

Thea is the one who called it off but is offering her help to Wes and now things are just awkward between them. Now I am going to speak literally right now- I hope Jane is okay and with whatever she is sick with the hospital can get it taken care of. But 30 weeks pregnant is pretty early for a baby to be born and I know she doesn’t want the baby to be in the NICU but it probably will because if they were trying to stop labor then doctor thinks the baby is not ready and needs to cook a little more….. but now she might not have a choice and I feel bad and it makes me sick…….

Also I think it would be cool to be in a parade and build something like that. The kids seemed to have a blast but again Thea is hanging around Wes during the festival and just I am confused at this point.

Chapter 13-

When Wes was on the phone with Toby, he said her organs were pretty much failing and that she wouldn't make it. Wes figured that since she was already in the hospital she was in good hands but things have drastically changed and now Jane is in the ICU unit fighting for her life because she pretty much has preeclampsia and Help syndrome.

Thea had a friend that had the same thing and her friend and the baby made it through but when Wes looked up the success rate it was only 30%. Thea and Wes drove to Denver, Colorado which was just a 3 hour drive but of course Thea drove because she knew Wes was worked up and didn't need to be driving and was calming him down the entire ride to the hospital. August was at the ranch and he would have to take over and Wes would update him on what happened but they needed to get to the hospital as soon as possible. Wes and Jane were really close when they were younger and Wes was suppose to be there to help his dad in the Kayak situation but he wasn't and he wasn't there to help his dad. Wes's dad always was a happy man and told his kids to live their life in happiness because things can happen at any moment.

Toby had met Wes in the Labor and Delivery unit and they got there just in time before visitation hours ended. Toby is the only one allowed to stay with her but so far Jane is okay and the baby is doing strong but things can change. The nurse will alert Toby if anything changes. I really hope Jane and the baby make it. 30 weeks I agree with Toby is waaaaaaayyy to soon to have the baby but Jane didn't have a choice or else the baby was going to die. Toby has been trying to stay positive since his wife is on a breathing machine and the nurses are trying to get her better before it's too late. The baby was born and obviously the baby is in the NICU unit at 3 lbs.

She is on machines as well but nurses said the baby will be there for a few weeks will they can get the baby to gain weight and everything. Again Thea drove and I was confused about that because she up and left the ranch when she was the one in charge of this whole thing. Thea also drove Wes to the hospital because she didn't want him driving after he just found out the news from Toby.

Not going to lie I got teary eyed just from reading that chapter but Wes and Jane are close and he is going to make sure his sister pulls through so she can hold the baby that she just gave birth to. Toby is trying to hold himself together and be strong for his wife.

Chapter 14-

Thea had been waiting in the waiting room and Thea had started getting hungry but she didn't have an option because the hospital cafeteria was closed and she can't leave to go get food. Thea had took some time to realize that in this moment they are all going to need to stay positive and pray that Jane's blood pressure goes down because this can be really hard on Toby and the baby. Toby has given them the keys to the hotel room so they can go sleep and come back first thing tomorrow morning.

Toby will update them on everything as he talks with the nurses but if she gets better overnight they will leave by lunch time, but Wes wants to stay to make sure things to okay. Wes had just confirmed that he couldn't be just friends with Thea and that he has major feelings for her and is serious about a relationship.

Well Thea knew that it was best for both of them to get some sleep and NOT have the same hotel room so nothing happens but of course Thea kisses him and they end up sleeping in the same room and fucking which I have a feeling they both are going to regret..... Didn't use protection or nothing.....

Wes is making a mistake by falling for Thea. She is not going to let him do his rodeo circuit and he is really falling for a woman who he doesn't even really know but just had sex with and used no protection..... Hope he is ready to understand the commitment that Thea has... She has kids and he is going to have to help out with those kids but is he really willing to give up his rodeo circuit for Thea who seems like she can't make up her own mind let alone can't be a mom to her own kids while they are on vacation. Her kids have already acted up but yet she is making mistakes as well......

I really don't know how I feel about this because Wes could do better and he needs to have a serious conversation with her before they commit. I don't see this working out and I have a felling one of them is going to regret what they just did.

Chapter 15-

Wes had pretty much pulled an all nighter because he couldn't sleep with Thea in the same bed as him. This was the first time that Wes had slept in and lounged in the bed for a while because normally he's up at 6am every morning doing chores and getting his day ready to go. Thea was still sleeping and he had admired the way she looked sleeping and he has NEVER fell this hard for anyone before. The hotel phone had rang and he figured that this couldn't be good news because it wasn't even 6:30am yet. But Toby called to alert them that Jane is now awake bossing everyone around, tired as hell, but she is finally able to hold her daughter and so far the baby is doing well but only one person at a time can see the baby.

Toby wasn't shocked that Wes had slept with Thea because he also is on the rodeo circuit and he is constantly traveling and knows what he feels. So Wes had told them that they would be right over and before they made their decision on coming back... he would have to see the condition of his sister and the baby.... August had ended up calling Wes back and said that once Thea and Wes get back to the ranch he would head up to Denver to check on the baby and see how Jane is doing.

Thea gets told the news and she is excited as well that her best friend is back to herself and she is doing great! Well Thea is being a bitch to Wes and is now being distant, and doesn't want to look him in the eyes because she is ashamed that they had sex last night but she is still claiming THAT SHE ONLY WANTS TO BE FRIENDS WITH HIM. She is also thinking about her kids in the process and she told Wes that but he figured she would have taken him seriously last night when he will do anything to make this work because he couldn't be friends with her after what had happened last night.

So Jane and Toby named the baby Charlee Sue which the baby was named after their father. Wes got a little talking to when he went back to see the baby because Jane found out that he slept with Thea and now he doesn't want him to hurt Thea's feelings but Wes doesn't think she wants a real relationship with him after the way she was acting this morning.

In all honesty he could do better and I hope for his sake that Thea fucks herself over because she obviously doesn't seem to be taking him serious because he proved last night that he was willing to do whatever it took to prove that he wants a REAL relationship with her.

I knew she was going to treat him like this the next morning and I'm going to be a little salty here but I understand that Thea is looking out for her kids but for her to up and stand her ground and still claim that SHE ONLY WANTS TO BE FRIENDS WITH HIM- Why the fuck did she not speak up last night.... How are you going to kiss him before walking into the hotel room and then say that?

I'm so pissed that I could literally give this book a 2 star if this was the ending. Thea doesn't understand that he gave up his work promotion to help her out and if he didn't give a fuck then he would have already been on his way to Texas to help at that rodeo...... Until Thea can prove otherwise she is considered a Buckle Bunny or Mud Cricket to me.

Jane needs to stay out of this as well. I understand she is looking out for her friend but they need to figure this out and she also has to understand that he is not trying to purposely hurt her feelings but THEA is the only that just wants to be friends so technically SHE is at fault of fucking off and pretty much calling this a one night stand....

Chapter 16-

Thea had been staring at the window waiting for Toby and Wes to come back so she could take her turn and see Jane and the baby. After she had felt like she got no sleep, she had rally thought about her actions and the way she had treated Wes and she didn't mean to hurt him but she wasn't ready to talk about Dylan with another person. So the real truth was Thea had wanted a divorce from Dylan because she felt like he didn't want anything to do with the kids and he hardly spent time with the kids and bitched the whole time he was home.

She had talked on the phone with her kids and they had a blast at the camp, Olivia and Ryan had made it to the top on rock climbing and Olivia sounds like she had just woke up and Ryan is full of energy. The kids had asked how things were going and Jane is better and the baby is doing well so far which Thea was really proud that her kids were being thoughtful of them and couldn't wait to see them. Ryan wants to go on the fishing trip with Wes once they get back and Thea already mentioned to Wes that she wouldn't be going since she can't handle herself around him.

She had pushed Wes away this morning and her attitude was inappropriate and she could have said that she wasn't ready to talk about her marriage instead of being a complete bitch to Wes. As soon as she gets off the phone with the kids, Toby and Wes walk out and it's now her turn to see her best friend and the baby.

Wes and Toby are going to get breakfast together while the girls sit and have a chat. Thea is very happy to see her best friend alive and doing better but of course now she is jealous and wants another baby when Jane asks if "she could see herself having another one."

Jane the whole time had been on her brothers side and telling her friend that Wes is a really good guy and as long as she gives him a chance to prove that she will see. Thea is scared to have her heart broken and she doesn't want her kids to have to go through all that again. But after speaking with Jane.... will she be able to stop acting stuck up and actually talk to him about it without making accusations that he is trying to be better than Dylan? At this point I don't care what Thea thinks. I think the way she acted towards Wes was not okay at all and she could have said that she wasn't ready to talk about it nicely instead of acting like a bitch to him.

I really think Jane convincing her best friend to give Wes a try is a mistake. Yes she wants her brother to be happy and find love but I really don't think Thea is going to make him happy. She keeps saying she is not wanting a relationship but she has kissed him, and has had sex with him.... So she is lying to herself and other people.....

I did find it awkward out of no where when Jane asked Thea if she could see herself having another baby....... I also think Thea is being full of herself when she told Wes that she wasn't going on the boat with him and Ryan because she can't handle herself because she fucked up......

Poor Wes thinks he did something wrong but he didn't. How was he suppose to know that she wasn't ready to talk about her past relationship with Dylan if she didn't voice that nicely.....

I bet Toby is going to convince Wes to spend time with her more and give him tips on how to ease into it rather than coming off strong.....

Chapter 17-

Wes had never been used to settling down and actually waking up to someone that he has had major feelings for before. Wes had mentioned Dylan in the hotel room that morning before they left for the hospital and Thea had acted like she wanted nothing to do with Wes. Currently Wes had drove the whole way back from the hospital to the ranch so August could take his turn on seeing his sister and the baby in the hospital.

They are literally 15 minutes away from the ranch and Wes was hoping to use the time to chat with her and really get on the same page about things but it's hard to do when she has slept the whole way and he doesn't know when they are going to get another chance to talk alone again. She had apologized for the way she acted and was now blaming it on how stressful it really was to be at the hospital and her feelings got caught up with her.

Again making excuses for her actions when she didn't use her mouth to speak and is playing like everything is okay. Wes is completely heartbroken when Thea tells him that she doesn't regret having sex with him but they won't be doing that again.... friend zoning him again after the attraction they had. Wes pulls up to the ranch just in time as the kids are arriving from getting back from the camp. Obviously the kids had a blast and this was all Wes's idea from the very beginning but Ryan and the boys are taking a fishing trip and some of the group is going into town for a few hours.

Thea had wanted to take Olivia into town and have lunch so she declined going on the fishing trip because she knew Wes and her would give vibes to everyone and Thea didn't want the group knowing what happened between them. (view spoiler)[ (hide spoiler)] (hide spoiler)]

I feel sooooo bad for Wes. Again Thea had slept the whole way back and again just friend zoned Wes and she told him that no more flirting, let alone sex. She just wants to be friends but now Wes is heartbroken because she won't give him a chance but when Thea's son say "I wish you were my dad."

WHAT? THAT IS ALOT OF COMMITMENT! Wes didn't even know how to respond when the little boy said that.... Wes was planning on talking to Thea on the way back but here he is left speechless and who knows when they are going to get time alone again....

I'm so pissed with Thea... like what is she doing? Wes should have stayed away from her from the very beginning because obviously she is not fully recovered from her ex husband Dylan.

Chapter 18-

Thea had took Olivia on a one on one time with her daughter and the carnival was still going on and there were booths were people were selling things and Olivia had mentioned to Thea that she really enjoyed the town since everyone was so friendly and engaging. Thea was shocked because just before they left for the retreat, Thea said it was going to be boring and a long trip. So Thea had bought her daughter a essential oil soap bar that smelled like Vanilla and a 25% off necklace that she fell in love with and she looked sooooo beautiful in it.

Yes Thea doesn't buy things unless it's in the budget but she has let her guard down since they are on vacation. And as they are heading to the cafe... Thea runs into Beth and she was talking about how Jane and the baby were doing wonderful and Beth told Thea that their meal was on the house.......

Free meal that you can't beat that was nice of Beth.... Olivia had hit home once she had mentioned to Thea that Ryan and Olivia were perfectly fine with Thea starting to get out and date, but she also mentioned that she wanted to go to the movies with Preston and Thea said if a group of them go it would be okay.

But Thea I feel like failed as her job as a parents because Olivia had mentioned that their dad had never wanted to change and his attitude was always nasty and throwing a fit over the stupidest things. Her daughter can also tell that Wes has feelings for her and she knows her daughter is watching her and slowly is convincing her mom to go on a date with Wes and see how things go..... Damn.... for Olivia to bring the whole dating topic up for Thea had no totally lost not gonna lie. Thea had took her daughter on some alone time during the time the guys were fishing and Thea doesn't like spending money unless it's in the budget.

I will say you can't beat a free meal but the fact that Thea and Olivia had a very interesting conversation makes me have more respect for Olivia. Yes she is boy crazy and I really don't think it's a good option if she does to go a movie alone with Preston.... As a group would be fine, but what happens if something else goes wrong and the adults aren't there... they will NEVER know what happened.....

Olivia knew that Dylan never gave the kids the time of day and Thea had done everything to make him happy but nothing was working. Thea wanted a divorce because felt like the relationship was not there and told her ex husband that she wanted a divorce right before he left for deployment..

I agree at the point those are the worst words you could say to your husband... Thea I'm sorry is a piece of shit... she thinks of no one else but herself but sometimes when it comes to her kids let's be honest... I CANT STAND THEA.

Chapter 19-

Wes hasnt been back to this fishing spot in forever just because it was hard to fish there without the memories coming back to Wes about his dad and him fishing. The boys were pretty impressed by the fishing spot and how secluded it was and Wes was not kidding when he said that this pond was probably one of the best damn fishing spots. Off to the left was a huge waterfall that has a climbing wall that Wes would always climb when he was younger and his dad was watching him.

Ryan of course thought this place was very cool and was excited to cast his line out and potentially catch a fish. So everyone had spread out in the lake and Wes would help everyone when they needed but he needed to help Ryan since Thea stayed back. Fish are deeper out here because the water is deeper but you will catch some decent fish here and Ryan did catch a rainbow trout which was a decent size and the little boy was so proud of himself and Thea was impressed that her son was able to catch a fish that big.

Calvin had to go help Timothy and Calvin because the line had gotten stuck well Ryan was told to stay put and try and catch another fish but Wes was trying to get the fishing pole back up and fixed and Timothy saw Ryan had wandered off and Calvin found him climbing the rock wall and the little boy was already 3/4 up and slipped and fell off the rock wall. Wes was suppose to be keeping a eye on Ryan and he told him not to go on the rock wall but he didn't listen and know they have to call a medical chopper because he might have broke his spine or neck but he has a concussion for sure.

Thea is going to be pissed when she finds out that her son didn't listen. Calvin knew that is wasn't Wes's fault and he knew he told the boy not to go near it but he did it anyway. (view spoiler)[ (hide spoiler)] (hide spoiler)]

Oh my goddd... Thea is going to be pissed off. I will say I agree with Calvin though, he heard Wes tell Ryan to not go near the climbing wall because they were not equipped with swimming gear and they were there to fish and he needed to stay away. Well Ryan had caught a fish and Wes had sent pictures of the fish to Thea but Calvin needed help getting a fishing line unstuck and had asked if he could rent the cabins out to vacationers because Calvin wanted to come back with his son.

Wes had no issues promoting the ranch and they will only rent the cabins out to people they know and Wes didn't have a problem with them coming back. Timothy noticed that Ryan had wandered off but Calvin saw him about 3/4ths up the climbing wall and Wes told Ryan not to do that. So Wes has to stop what he doing and grab Ryan before he falls off, but it's too late and Ryan slips off the wall and see the little boy at the bottom on the rocks.

Calvin is trying to call Thea because they had to call a medical chopper out because Ryan might have broke his spine or neck and Wes wants to have him checked out by medical personal but its not looking good and I'm pretty sure Ryan has a concussion because he can't remember what Wes said 20 minutes ago.

Thea's kids just don't listen and I swear if Thea blames Wes for this I am gonna be pissed. Wes told Ryan not to go near the climbing wall and Calvin is a witness because he heard Wes say do not go near it.

Chapter 20-

Thea and Olivia had just finished eating at the diner and I mean Beth had spoiled them so good that they couldn't even finish the slice of apple pie that was brough out to them for dessert. Thea doesn't let her kids eat fatty meals alot but Thea and Olivia had an amazing one on one time and they both agreed that they needed this time alone for girl time. Thea had gave Beth a $40 tip and Beth told them that they are not allowed to pay and it was on the house.

She sees that she has two missed calls from Gabe and as they are walking back to the car she calls Gabe back and Thea finds out that her son had an accident and has been flown to the Medical center to get evaluated because everyone thinks he has a concussion. Wes was in the helicopter with Ryan and Wes had to get stitched up because he had a huge gash that was almost bone deep because of the rocks. Gabe told Thea that it wasn't Wes's fault and that her son snuck off when everyone was fishing to climb the rock wall by the waterfall.

Olivia is freaking the hell out because she is worried that her brother is in serious medical condition but Gabe told them that he lost consciousness and if Wes wouldn't have been there any sooner it would have been wawaaaay worse for her son. Wes told him no and he want ahead and did it anyway. Doctor steps outside with Thea and say that he has a mild grade 2 concussion and they doctors and nurses want to monitor him overnight just to make sure he is okay and if everything is good, he is good to go home tomorrow.

Everyone at the ranch had made it to the hospital to check on Ryan but Wes left just a few minutes ago and Thea wanted to talk to him and thank him once again for saving her son and that NONE of this is his fault. (view spoiler)[ (hide spoiler)] (hide spoiler)]

For once Thea is not blaming Wes for what happened..... Ryan got talked to by Thea because he wandered off and didn't listen when he was told directly to listen to Wes. This could have been way more serious and her son needs to stop sneaking off and doing this without adult supervision because now Thea is going to have to pay an medical bill.

Wes had to get stiches because he had a gash on his leg that was almost bone deep..... gag 🤮ouch!!!!! Ryan does have a grade 2 concussion but what Thea didn't know is Ryan was unconscious in the water and if Wes didn't save him in time, her son would have been in worse condition. They are keeping her son overnight to monitor him and if things go okay then they will discharge him tomorrow.

Wes left and had august come get him but Thea wanted to talk to him and say thank you once again for saving her son the 2nd time and that she doesn't blame him for ANY of this since her son didn't listen.

Thea and Olivia had some pretty good one on one time and they both agreed that they needed it and it needs to start happening more often.

Chapter 21-

August had taken Wes back to the ranch because Wes couldn't bare the burden to see Ryan or Thea once more. Wes saw the look on Thea's face as she arrived at the hospital and Wes now has to live with flashbacks of the boy falling and if Wes didn't grab the little boy out of the water in time, Ryan would have passed away. August had been nice enough to drive him back but again he was being an asshole trying to bring up the whole topic when Wes was trying to not think about it.

In all honesty it sounded like August just wanted to pick a fight with Wes and August was telling Wes that it wasn't his fault that their dad died. He went out alone on the kayak and he should have waited to go until one of the kids was there. Wes blames himself for his dad death because it wasn't the fact that he was close to his dad but he could have prevented it if he knew his dad was on the lake alone. Wes feels like having responsibility as a father figure just isn't for him yet and he could do better by not settling for Thea. Wes also feels like Thea wouldn't want to see him after what happened and he does have a job offer to take and Jane wanted him to take it, hints the ONLY reason why August came back to help. August needs to shut the fuck up. How are you going to sit there and start a fight with your own brother? August can say whatever he wants but Wes is not going to fight and he has a job offer he needs to take since he worked for it. August doesn't have to like bull riding but if Wes wants to do that for a living then he at least needs to be happy for his brother.

I honestly think Wes can handle being a father but Thea is not the right person for him and him leaving to take that job offer from his boss and leaving for the rodeo is better for him. I know the little boy will be heartbroken but it was really sweet when Wes gave him the fishing pole that he caught that Rainbow trout on.....

I am in tears because this is so heartbreaking not even gonna lie. Wes made a good decision.

Chapter 22-

Thea and her kids are just now headed back to the ranch and doctors gave her a strict recovery process and he will need to follow that or else he won't get cleared the next time the doctor sees him. It was going to be hard to Thea to keep her eyes on her son so he doesn't sneak off and do anything to hurt himself again. Ryan had asked if Wes could take him back to the fishing spot and Thea said no. Olivia would take her brother fishing but he would have to take the fish off the hook and do that himself. They get back to the ranch just as evening is approaching and Ryan wants to go fishing sooooo bad but he is on a strict recovery and when they get back to the cabin.... Ryan sees the fishing pole that Wes gave him but the problem is- Thea breaks the news to her son that Wes left for a rodeo in Texas and won't be back. Ryan doesn't believe that Wes is really gone for good and this little boy is soooo pissed off that August comes to check on them to make sure they are okay. But August is telling Thea that when times get rough and he needs a break he will leave but will eventually come back overtime. (view spoiler)[ (hide spoiler)] (hide spoiler)]

I finished and that ending was a total let down.... so now she decides that she likes Wes after he has left the ranch and I feel like she is only doing that because her kids are attached to him.

Wes can do better and I have a feeling not to be a bitch that it's not going to last just because Wes is going to miss the rodeo circuit and Thea is not going to allow him to do that if she has to take care of the kids all the time..... Good luck is all I have to say. Gave it 3 stars.
