Peyton | 79 comments I’d love to join this read

Héloïse ☾ | 89 comments @Peyton of course, welcome ! Can't wait to start this one :)

Leslie Dauer-Creek | 320 comments Hey @Heloise and @Peyton! I just started but am only through chapter 2. So far so good, though I didn't realize Lauren would actually be a kind of sex worker (I just finished a book last week where one of the main characters was a porn actor and had some similar vibes). After having read Lights Out last year (which I didn't think I would like but ended up loving), I am interested to see where this story will go with Junior and whether I will end up being sympathetic with his character...

Peyton | 79 comments @Leslie no worries I’m just starting this one today due to having been out of town. Like you I also didn’t expect to like Lights Out since it’s not my typical vibe but I loved it. I’m hoping I love this book as well.

Leslie Dauer-Creek | 320 comments I'm 2/3 done with the book, and I plan to be done tomorrow. Here are some ramblings on my thoughts so far.
I am loving it, though not nearly as much as the first one. But I LOVE Lauren's Nonna - such a character! The stalking thing is probably one of the least things I like about each of the books, and how Lauren "justifies" that I'm not fond of.
The whole kink club thing reminds me of "Praise" by Sara Cate, although from a different perspective.
I do like the independence and self-assuredness Lauren has; glad that she doesn't put it aside for anyone. I also loved the cameo of the kitties in the scene with Josh and Junior.
I don't like Junior's father even more than in the first book and really hope everything works out for everyone.

Peyton | 79 comments I’m currently on chapter 13 since I have quite a few reads going on but I expect to be done today or tomorrow. I find this book to be very interesting but I do feel like while it has similarities to lights out nothing is as intense and that’s a little disappointing. I don’t know if it’s because they already know each other or what but I’m not as on the edge of my seat as I was with the previous book. That being said I am enjoying the main characters, lauren’s friends and her nonna. Really looking forward to seeing where this goes

Héloïse ☾ | 89 comments Wow, you were really quick! I've been swamped with work so I haven't managed to read much. I've only just started and I have to say I'm surprised by the plot, I wasn't expecting it but I can't wait to see where it takes us and to discover the characters you've mentioned.

Peyton | 79 comments I’m about 81% done in the middle of chapter 29 and will be finishing when I wake up lol but I wanted to share my thoughts. I’m so glad that the story has finally picked up to more of what I was expecting and that Josh and Ally were tied into the book because I love them so much. I didn’t realize at all that junior was the cousin from lights out. I don’t like Junior’s father but I understand why he is the way he is. I’m also not the biggest fan of Lauren’s sister. I definitely wasn’t expecting anything out of Tyler. I’m excited to see where this book leads but I’m definitely feeling that it’s a 4 star read.

Peyton | 79 comments I just finished and the last 20% was exactly what I had been expecting from this book. The intensity was exactly what I had been hoping for from this book. I can’t wait to see what happens next with this series.

Héloïse ☾ | 89 comments Personally, I'm almost halfway through. I'm glad I'm not listening to it because while I really liked Lights Out as an audiobook, this one is much smuttier and I would never have been able to keep a straight face lmao

At first I was really puzzled as to how it was going to unravel, but I like the way the relationship between Junior and Lauren is set up. Can't wait to see the big intrigue.

Peyton | 79 comments @Heloise you’re right it’s so much smuttier and that’s probably why she focused less on the actual smut and more on the actual relationship and sex worker fight for rights

Héloïse ☾ | 89 comments Hello, I've finally finished my reading, sorry I totally abandoned ship for a few days but I felt like if I forced myself to read I'd fall into a reading slump. I found the beginning promising but as the chapters progressed I found the story less interesting.

It's a good thing there was a buddy read, otherwise I think I would have put the book on hold and not picked it up again for several months.
