I read this as an adult for the first time and I was utterly charmed by the heroes!

I read this a year or two ago. Dahl is hit or miss for me. This one was a miss. It was just too wierd.

Too weird

The book is a lot darker than the movie. Its like the difference between a peach and a pumpkin or the difference between The Wizard of Oz and Return to Oz.

I haven't read this since I was a kid but I used to be OBSESSED. I always loved Dahl's books but (if I could be transparent) completely forgot about them in adulthood. I started this today and I'm already enjoying the nostalgia it's bringing! Hoping to finish it before the end of the day :P

I never read this book as a child, or seen the movie. I am listening to the audio book and enjoying it very much, it is a weird story indeed
