Biography, Autobiography, Memoir discussion

I recently released Beyond the Trailer Park, a story of struggle overcoming the hoodlum I used to be the strength it took to build the life I dreamed to have when I was younger and the decisions (good and bad) that led me to where I am today. It was hard to write but I am so happy that I did.

I didn't originally mean too. It was set to the wrong Author of the same name and I was clicking things to try to figure out how to fix that before I found the Librarians group. and once I clicked the start I couldn't unclick them.

Okay, It's tough to figure Goodreads out. I'm not an author, so haven't been through that process. Does your book automatically show on your shelf if you're an author? I'm not a Super Librarian, so don't know everything the way they do.

So if you have a unique name and already have an Authors account it will show as your the author. I didn't have an Autho account yet and there is another author with the same name who wrote about Martial Arts. So I had to have the Librarians take my book out of his listing and create a new section for my book.

Yes, this is a problem stemming from the fact that most people don't realize authors on GR with the same name have to have a different number of spaces between their names. This makes it very difficult when people try to add book/author and go to the author first, because you can only find the correct one if you know how many spaces to add!

Lisa Harris has TEN spaces between her names in her book records, but I found this out by searching for one of her books, then looking for the author under add book/author (I already knew she had more than one, thus this example.)! All of the books published in her name have to have that or they will show up on the wrong page. I have no idea why, because she's the most well-known Lisa Harris.
