P. S Bunter | 1 comments I'm looking for beta readers for my complete YA Fantasy, Fighting Fear.

100k word count

I'm looking for advice on the book in general e.g. how it reads, characters, writing style, as well as anything else you think that would help.

As a first time writer, I'd like opinions from those with more experience. Be brutal, I can take it if it helps me make improvements, but I'd love to here what positives you can see too.

The book.........

Fighting Fear - Part One, The Fear That Lies Inside

There is fear inside each and every one of us.

Fear of the dark, fear of not fitting in, fear of not looking a certain way, fear of failure, fear of not being good enough, or that good old childhood favourite ………. the fear of the creatures that wait in the dark corners of our minds (and homes), to torment our waking hours and our dreams.

Whether it’s the monster in the closet, the one under the bed, the one that lurks in the corridor making those late night toilet runs so hesitantly creepy, or the shadow following you home in the dark of night.

These are just a few of the creatures whose job it is to seep fear into our consciousness, and they do so at the bidding of their master, The Darkness.

The same creatures that we all saw, felt, and accepted so readily as children, remain unseen in adulthood. Yet their power over us is equally as strong, and equally as real, however many times we try to reassure ourselves.

Luckily, there is a group of people here to help. A group that for centuries have been tasked with battling The Darkness’s forces which spread fear and uncertainty in us all. A group known as Hunters.

The Hunter's are about to get a new recruit. Albeit an awkward, gangly one, lacking in a great deal of self belief.

Fighting Fear - Part One, is the first of a five part series, of a worldwide humorous, and sometimes creepy adventure, taking opportunities to explore and learn from the teachings, cultures, traditions, and the people met along the way.

In a break in the fourth wall, some of these are highlighted and discussed at the end of each book, by one of the story’s main protagonists. Showing the reader how they themselves could use them to make their own lives a little better.

Give me a shout if you think you could help with a book that aims to help as well as entertain

Thanks

Paul

Anyway, I would love to work with you. My beta reading service includes
• Chapter-wise report
• Character report
• Overall feedback on plot and pacing
• Customized questionnaire
• In-line commentary
You can check out details like pricing on my website https://www.narrativenook.blog/servic... and my GoodReads thread for testimonials provided directly from authors who have worked with me https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Regan Flow | 21 comments Hello P.S Bunter, I'm interested to beta read your novel Fighting Fear. I've worked with hundreds of writers spanning over 6 years. And I promise brutally honest feedback and fast turnaround period. I can definitely provide constructive feedback that can help you improve your story that aims to help as well as entertain.

The was I provide feedback is a little different. First I provide chapter-wise feedback and then a feedback report at the end to tie everything together. It will include what I loved about the novel, what I didn't like, what feels off, any plot holes, believability, confusing parts, things that can be improved as well as suggestions to how it can be improved. If you think about it, it's kind of similar to developmental edit except it's up to you how much you take away from the feedback and what you ignore. My offer is 70$ for 100k. You can check-out my website as well:
