Noble Intentions (Noble, #1) by Katie MacAlister
Noble Intentionsby Katie MacAlister

Synopsis:

Noble Britton had suffered greatly at the hands of his first wife, and he refused to fall into the same trap again. This time he intended to marry a quiet, biddable woman who would not draw attention to herself or cause scandal. Gillian Leigh's honest manner and spontaneous laughter attracted him immediately. It mattered little that she was accident-prone; he could provide the structure necessary to guide her.

But unconventional to the tips of her half-American toes―toes that one of them was constantly tripping over―his new bride turned the tables on him, wreaking havoc on his orderly life. And worse, demanding he surrender his heart. Perpetually one step behind his beguiling spouse, Noble suffered a banged-up head, a black eye, and a broken nose before he realized Gillian had healed his soul and proved that their union was no heedless tumble, but the swoon of true love.

Irina (☀️ on vacation again ☀️) | 45 comments I've just started it. It's funny, but all the head hopping is giving me a headache.

This was a madcap romp. Somehow the author manages to navigate between being too silly for words and entertainment. I was entertained and engaged until the end.

Even though at times I shook my head at how silly it was, I find myself drawn towards ready the rest of the series.

A 4 star read

Irina (☀️ on vacation again ☀️) | 45 comments I put it aside for now after chapter 2. Not in the mood for this kind of humor at the moment. :(

Jan (jan130) | 2673 comments Glad you enjoyed, Susan. I might try this one. It sounds fun, although @Irina, I do understand your comment. If the mood isn't right, it's not worth reading on.

I'm enjoying the part that the MC, a dark earl, is really dark or at least does the part: a dark, prejudiced, knows it all and indifferent earl.

I wonder if Gillian is just foolish or if she seeks greatness through English phlegm

message 12: by Clarissa (new)

Clarissa | 45 comments I enjoyed this one. I agree it was a bit silly in places, but I laughed the whole way through and I thought the story was well done. It's a 4 for me too.
