Interspersed throughout the story are scenes involving a boy named Alex and his family. What did you make of it initially? What seemed odd?

That was one strange family. I figured out early on that Alex had a multi personality and his "sister" wasn't real.

You did better than me. It took me a bit to figure out it was a multiple personality. They are a strange family.

Very strange family but I also thought the sister was not real.

It took a long, long time to figure out she wasn’t real. I knew Alex would figure in prominently at some point and felt he was The Bone Artist early on. The family was bizarre and I was so disappointed in Hanna.
