Trinity used her fingers to craft a message on the inside door of her car addressed to Vanessa, Josie’s birth name. Did you find it meaningful in that moment that she used that name? What did you think the squiggly lines and shapes were? Would you have known it was shorthand?

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments I believed that Trinity wanted to get Josie's attention to look back to the time she was born. I first thought the symbols could be a map of sorts. I would not have known it was shorthand, that was a dead office language even when I worked in an office 50 years ago.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments I took a shorthand class in school. I'm like Nadine, I use my own shorthand that is a combination Gregg/Sharon.

I thought the squiggly lines were a shorthand message. I thought she used Vanessa to throw off the captors. They would know her relationship to Josie, but wouldn't know Vanessa.

message 4: by Susan (new)

Susan (cruelshoes) | 158 comments I had no idea what the scribbling was and did not see at all that it was shorthand. That was good investigating to finally figure that out.

I also thought it was a covert way to communicate with Josie but didn’t connect the squiggly lines with shorthand. I took the class but never had to use it (thank God!). Good deduction on Josie’s part.
