When the team meets with Drake, the FBI agent Trinity was dating, he shares what Trinity was focused on. She was looking into a serial killer cold case, The Bone Artist. Was this the point where the scenes involving Alex started to connect or did that come later?

I had already figured that Trinity was chasing a nasty story, one that would be sensational and get her a lot of press. This just confirmed what Trinity was pursuing.

I knew it was a dangerous story too. I did begin thinking Alex was a clue, but I still wondered about it.

It would have to be a very juicy story for Trinity to get involved in. I did not see the connection with Alex in the beginning. Trinity made a good detective in this cold case.

This was that moment for me when Alex began to make sense. And, yes, it was a dangerous story that got out of hand. I hadn’t figured out all of the pieces but knew I was on the right track.
