On her way back home from her parents’ home, Josie recognizes the truck described in the profile and it has shorthand written under “wash me”. When she swings back and locked eyes with the driver, he races out and crashes her SUV, sending it over a ravine. As he begins to carry her away, he hears Noah’s voice from the phone call she still had live and abandons her. When she begs him to take her to Trinity, he responds, “Not yet.” Did he leave her because of his fear of who might be on the call or some other reason? Any other theories emerging at this time?

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments I think he left her because he hadn't killed Trinity yet and as her "mirror" it wasn't time to take Josie. But then why did he crash her? I don't think he left her because of Noah. But I just don't know.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments I thought he left her because of Noah. His plan was to take her because he warned her not to rub her eyes. He picked her up and started carrying her. When he heard Noah, he knew they could track the phone, which would bring the cops. I thought his hideout was close, and the cops would find it.

Susan (cruelshoes) | 158 comments I was confused why he crashed her car as well. I believe it was so she could not follow him. It was not her time yet to be taken. He always has a plan and does not deviate from his own timetable.

Another good point Susan. I didn't focus on him having a plan or timetable."

He crashed her because he knew she recognized him and he her. His timetable was already a mess and he had to deviate. When Alex heard Noah’s voice, he had no idea how much time he had and getting up that ravine carrying Josie would take time. When he said, “Not yet,” it put her on notice that that was the plan. He was escaping.
