Melanie | 58 comments I am doing the readathon from 2 pm BST Sat 19th July to 2 pm BST Sun 20th July.

I am doing the readathon as 24 hours as a time period, and will leave the clock running for sleep etc.

Lamilla | 818 comments That's a nice plan, Melanie! Do you have a TBR in mind or are you more of a mood reader?

message 3: by Melanie (new)

Melanie | 58 comments I have a TBR. I'm kicking off with finishing My Brilliant Friend by Elena Ferrante. I also have The Housemaid by Frieda McFadden, some poetry (Carol Ann Duffy) and a wrapped book which I know is fantasy, but I don't know what book it is.

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) | 1435 comments Sounds like a plan and a variety - have fun!

Melanie | 58 comments Hour 1: Opening Survey questions

1. How many Dewey's Readathons have you participated in?

This is my second one and my first Reverse. :)

2a. If this is not your first Dewey's Readathon, what are your favorite things from past Dewey's readathons? Are you trying anything new or different this time?

I love the discussion questions. It makes the readathon feel more social, even though the point is to be reading by yourself!

2b. What are your goals, and what are you looking forward to during this Readathon?

I am marking success by pages this time, rather than whole books. I don't have a specific goal this time round. I just want to see what happens!

3. What are you looking forward to eating and drinking during this Readathon?

Iced coffee!

4. Are you sticking to our official Readathon times or adjusting for your schedule/preferences/etc.?

I intended to, but ending up choosing my own times.

5. Where are you reading from today?

Wales, UK.

Susy (susysstories) | 2288 comments Welcome Melanie! I’m here definitely here for the social aspect as well: visiting fellow readers’ pages, doing sprints together, seeing pictures of the snacks, reading spots etc. Are you on Dewey’s Discord as well?

message 7: by Melanie (new)

Melanie | 58 comments Thank you! It's nice to see Goodreads this active again. :) I thought I was in the Discord, but I don't seem to have it in my app. Is there a link anywhere?

message 8: by D.L. (new)

D.L. | 98 comments Did you open the wrapped book yet? Hopefully you got something fun to read!

Welcome to the Reverse Read!

You might need to copy and paste the link in your browser as GR sometimes blocks external links…

message 10: by Melanie (new)

Melanie | 58 comments I did, it was Filthy Rich Vampire by Geneva Lee. A little bit disappointing. I'll still read it, but it's not really fantasy imo and I was expecting fantasy.

Thanks for the Discord link, Susy!

Melanie | 58 comments 1. How did your Readathon go overall?

As well as could be expected based on me being ill and unable to read much. :( I'm still glad I took part though!

2. Are you continuing to read for the rest of the weekend?

Yes!

3. How many books have you read in this Readathon? How many have you finished? Which was your favorite?

I've read 2. I finished My Brilliant Friend by Elena Ferrante and read 100 pages of See Me Rolling by Lottie Jackson. (I had already started My Brilliant Friend though.)

4. Do you plan to do other reading events or readathons between now and October 18th (our next Readathon)?

I am doing Reset-a-Thon Level 3 at the moment, and I plan to do ShARC Attack in August.

5. Have you added any tempting books to your TBR during this Readathon?

I ended up reading a book that wasn't on my TBR for the readathon. I'm reading See Me Rolling by Lottie Jackson.
