Nikki suspects that Sheriff Hardin already knew the girls’ murderer was not the Frost Killer but asked her to come to deflect some of the heat from the Innocence Project onto her. What did you think?

I think Nikki was correct. The Sheriff didn't want Caitlin Newport dogging him every step of the way. Nikki gave her someone else to concentrate on.

I agree. Hardin was such a creep. Knowing what he did, I'm sure he'd do anything to run under the radar on that past case.

I agree. Hardin was a creep. He was comfortable in his "do nothing" position, and he didn't want the responsibility of the murder on his desk.

Yes. He seemed the type to do whatever to get cases removed/distanced from him.

Hardin is an awful law enforcement agent. I think he was happy to punt the case to someone else.

I got bad vibes from the start and when I learned he’d handled her parents’ case, I got queasy.
