Carolyn wrote: "I nominate Reading the continents ie read books from different continents. How many can you find from the different continents? How many different genres can you find books in from the continents. ..."
Can you please clarify, Carolyn.
Do you want books SET in different continents (does the continent the reader lives in count?) -OR- Do you want books written by authors from different continents? (your examples are all authors)

Carolyn wrote: "finding Authors from different continents that you haven't read before. I feel I get stuck sometimes with the same Authors and forget to broaden my horizons."
See bold above .... is this what you want the challenge to say?
* * * * * * * * * * *
Carolyn wrote: "so it would work that you have to find Authors from every continent, the authors can either be living on that continent or from that continent, they can also be set on the continents. I know it is ..."
In your second message you just talk about finding Authors from every continent. No mention of "never read before."
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
Simpler is better, Carolyn. If you have too many options, then the "challenge" is basically just "read a book."
Right now I've worded it as simply "books written by authors from different continents."
Please let me know if you want me to change the wording.

Perhaps there's a holiday (major or obscure) you want to celebrate? Maybe you want to focus on a specific genre or tag? Want to look for cover image or color? Focus on the author's initials?
There is NO requirement that the theme match the month or season. Whatever "theme" you can come up with is fair game.
BE SURE to include the task requirement for your theme:
Examples:
Author, Author!: Read a book whose author's first and last initials are in "Author, Author"
It's Fall!: Read a book with the word "fall" in the title or subtitle
Read a book with BLUE cover.
ONE nomination per member
To encourage participation from more members, the person who nominated LAST month's winning theme cannot nominate this month. So, Patty, you will *not* be able to submit a nomination (though you WILL be able to vote).
DEADLINE - 25 July 2025 at 5p CDT, or 5 nominations (whichever comes first)
Once the nominations are closed, we'll set up a poll for membership to vote on the theme for next month.
Nominated themes:
* National Book Lover's Day - Re-read a book that was one of your all-time past favorites (Carol)
* Read the continents - Books written by authors from different continents (Carolyn)
* Dog Days of Summer - Read a book with a dog on the COVER (Koren)

Put your thinking caps on, and Have fun!
