hey guys!!! my next moderator read will be problematic summer romance by ali hazelwood. i am sooo excited to read this but also a little nervous too because i have seen a lot of mixed reviews for it. i'm planning to start this later today or tomorrow depending on when i finish my current read so if you would like to join just drop a comment down below :)

just wanted to update that i will most likely not be able to start this until tommorow because i only finished my last read one or two hours ago and am going to catch up on a buddy read in a bit than if i have time i will start!

prologue - hmmm im curious why maya does not want to go to her brothers wedding... also what does her brother do for a living to be so rich?

chapter 1 (7 days before the wedding) - so we just learned so much new information! i forgot that this has an age gap trope and the mmc is 15 years older (23, 38) which isss... something. clearly something went down between them because she still likes him but he has a girlfriend and they are all going to her brother's wedding so it might be awkward between them. i loveeeee tiny so much i absolutely adore dogs in books!! i do like avery though she seems super nice so it honestly sucks that conor and her or dating or maybe they will break up?

chapter 2 - okayyyy i'm so curious to find out what dynamic is going to be portrayed between maya and conor because she seems super scared to see him and she even contemplated faking a sickness so she could skip her brother's wedding... conor must have moved on with what happened between them if he has a girlfriend

chapter 3 - ahhhh oh my gosh. so her and conor finally had there first conversation after whatever happened with them and conor asked her if she was high because she seemed super nervous was word vomitting along with other stuff... then she jumped straight into confrontation and asked him if the reason he stopped taking to her was avery.. i am soo ready to see what he says to that because i need to know what happened!

chapter 4 - so we learned that conor had a previous love with this girl, minami, who lost feelings for him and married someone else and he probably had trauma from that experience.. also i completelyyy get why maya is mad at conor because i would be too...but we did find out that conor and avery have not been together for several months...

chapter 5 - okay i feel like conor being eli's best friend is going to be a huge part of why i believe that maya could have never expressed her feelings towards conor.... i used to love brother's best friend / best friend's little sister trope but sometimes it's just annoying.

chapter 6 (three years, two months, three weeks earlier) edinburgh scotland - oh my goshhhhh the ending of that chapter?! i have a feeling this is how her and conor will become best friends.... also everything maya is going through i feel so bad because i know i would be devastated too.

chapter 7 (present day) taormina, italy - so conor's ex, minami, is like a mother figure to maya which i feel may be awkward later for conor especially if conor and maya will end up dating and maya is basically at minami's house hanging out with her kid ever day...i feel like maya is going to start feeling lonely since she is at this wedding with so many happy couples

chapter 8 - okay the way that the other people at the wedding were making fun of maya for being good with kids because she's so young and conor jumps in the conversation and says she was only a kid a while ago pissed me off.. if i were maya i'd be upset but she just shrugged it off.

chapter 9 - omg its so cute that conor remembers her favorite stars...but the fact that he called her a childish brat really hurt her because she keeps mentioning it lol. i feel like he has his own reasons for cutting off contact with her that he hasn't shared (at least the honest reasons) and i feel soo bad for maya because he was her best friend

chapter 10 - dang conor honestly seems like a mean guy ... i know he probably has a softer side to him but it seems like he has and still is saying stuff to maya that really hurts her feelings so i have no idea how she's been in love with him for the past three years.

chapter 11 (three years, two months, three weeks earlier) edinburgh, scotland - so maya is twenty at the time of these past chapters and she is 23 now and since she has been in love with him for three years were going to probably watch her fall in love with him.. seeing the past and present chapters and how they interact with each other then and now is honestly so sad. conor is having a hard time believing that maya is 23 now and not just a teenager anymore. i really like eli though. this is a 2nd book in a series and I haven't read the first book since there are mostly negative reviews for the book but eli and rue (the couple getting married) both seem so nice and eli is suchhhh a good brother to maya.

okay so i just finished and i gave it 1.5 stars....the first half i didnt really care much about the book but i was intrigued than the last 100 pages just pissed me off
