His essays and short fiction have been widely published, with his short story Superwhite winning a Pushcart Prize for short fiction in 2015. His debut novel, Incidental Contact was published in 2022.

As an aside, I think there’s been a “merging of the Jim Whites”. This is the same Jim White who wrote Incidental Contact (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6...), and as far as I’m aware hasn’t published anything else. However, for that book he seems to have been merged with a writer on football (as well as quite a few other things)…
