Whether you’ve been here since 2007 or just wandered in like you smelled coffee from across the internet, we’re so glad you’re here. This is the place to introduce yourself, share your Rory reading goals, and say hello to your fellow book-loving, fast-talking, list-obsessed readers.

Hi everyone!

I’m Ashley — your “accidental” mod and fellow Rory Gilmore book nerd. I’ve been a Goodreads member since 2011, but only recently realized I’d been a mod here since 2022 (plot twist!). So, I’m stepping in to help bring this group back to life.

A little about me: I’m 40, and (among other things) I run a family-focused business dedicated to our furry friends. When I’m not spoiling pets, you’ll find me with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine, nose deep in a book.

I read just about everything, but I lean toward fantasy and romance, with a good memoir or historical fiction mixed in. And of course, I’m here because I love the idea of reading Rory Gilmore’s eclectic, massive reading list ... with a little chaos and caffeine thrown in.

I’m excited to get to know everyone, hear your favorite Gilmore moments, and share some fun challenges and reads.

My name is Clara! And I am so happy that this group is coming back to life (yayyy!)

I am a 25yo from Spain who has been obsessed with Gilmore Girls since 2018. I studied English Literature and Linguistics at University and as you might imagine I love reading and talking about books 😊

I don’t really know what to say, right now I am enjoying my summer holidays but I am an English teacher during scholar time.
I enjoy reading about everything, essays, poetry, playwrights, but it is true that I am very into 19th century writers such as Jane Austen, the Brontë sisters and that sort of stories. However, this year I have been leaning toward fantasy, romance and a little but of smut (little confession time I guess haha). I have introduced myself into Sarah J Maas’ universe and I am obsessed with EVERYTHING. Right now I should be starting reading Crescent City but tbh I do not feel ready to say good bye to The Throne of Glass’ characters so I am rereading Jane Austen’s Emma.

I love this idea of reading Rory Gilmore's reading list so idk I’m so excited to start this challenge with you and get to know the rest of the members of this group haha

I joined this challenge cause I love Gilmore girls and want to read more classics so I hope this will encourage me..

Hi everyone, I'm Bernadette. I think I joined this group when I saw a list of Rory's books online and thought there had to be a Goodreads group. And this is the one I joined.

I live in a suburb of Philadelphia with my husband. I have on daughter who is married, and they want to start a family soon🥰. During the day I'm a CPA/tax accountant at a national accounting firm, I have a flex schedule so this time of year I work 2-3 days a week. I do work some full-time weeks during tax season.

I prefer a real book to an e-book but about 7 years ago I started listening to audiobooks when my work commute changed, and I love them as well and that has significantly changed my reading experience. I am a big library user and am currently on the Board of Directors of the local library where I live now.

I'll read almost anything, but my favorites are Historical Fiction, Fiction, Mystery and Thriller. I'm not a fan of SciFi but I do like Fantasy in small doses at a time.

I'm a big college basketball fan in the fall/winter and baseball in the summer (Go Phillies! ⚾).

My husband and I have a goal of trying to visit all 63 American National Parks. To date we have been to 22. Next summer we have 3 weeks trip Alaska planned to visit the 8 Parks there.

Hi everyone! My name is McKenna. I love classic literature and fiction. I'm not huge into fantasy or romance, but that doesn't mean I won't try and read a few books of that genre every now and again. I am so excited for this "revival" (haha Gilmore Girls reference) of the group and to read more! I've read quite a few on the Rory Gilmore list, thanks to my time in college, but there are a few I both fear and look forward to reading, namely "The Fountainhead" by Ayn Rand and "War and Peace" by Tolstoy.

In addition to books, I also love film, theatre, traveling (I'm going to Scandinavia next year and I'm so excited!!), and going to museums. I also enjoy baking, sketching, or laying on the couch with my ragdoll cat, Sully. Not to be sacrilegious to Gilmore Girls, but I don't drink coffee so you'll find me curled up with a matcha latte or a mug of hot lemon water with honey. Thank you for rebooting the group Ashley! I can't wait to see where we go from here :)

I’m lucia and i’m really exited to read along you guys. i’ve been suffering from a reading slump for the past few months and im desperate to read again and be exited about a book. i hope this helps me overcome my illness (😭🤒) and also make new bookish friends along the way.

You should nominate "The Fountainhead" by Ayn Rand or "War and Peace" by Tolstoy for next years "Oy With the Tomes Already!" buddy read. It's our Gilmore-style big book challenge... since they are sometimes intimidating - we can take the whole year and cheer each other on!

Hi I’m Cindy from Spokane, WA. Years ago I started the Rory Gilmore Reading Challenge. But, I’m a very slow reader ( two ways - just slow 😋 - haha - and I don’t always make time 😊). But now that I’m older and semi- retired I want to read more and more. I loved the show Gilmore Girls and I love the idea of reading some of the books that are mentioned in the show. I like the challenges of pushing myself to read and learn more. Thank you for bringing this group back to life. Thanks for putting the time and effort to make this happen. I look forward to reading and the discussions about the books we read.
