It was odd that Michael never tried to visit Nancy's grave. Even if his mother wouldn't tell him where it was, he had plenty of money to hire an investigator to locate it - even in the 1970s.
I didn't like the relationship between Nancy and her plastic surgeon. It felt a bit icky, since she had been his patient. It almost had a Frankenstein quality, as in she was his creation and was molding her into the perfect woman for himself.
I wasn't a fan of how easily both Michael and George forgave Marion for what she had done after the car accident. I kept thinking that Jackie Collins would've handled it diffrently. (Revenge!) But this isn't that type of book. It's more of a Lifetime/Hallmark tv movie kind of story, where everyone is kind and forgiving.
I'm not a big Romance reader, but I could see how this book would appeal to fans of that genre. It also had a nice "happily ever after" ending. A good beach book!

What did you think about the pacing of the story? Did you find it was more of a page-turner, or was it a slog for you to get through?

I agree about it being formulaic. I never felt like I couldn't finish it, though, so that says something about the author's ability to keep the reader interested.
I zoomed through this tonight. It's okay. The ending was really rushed, though. Also, that mom was a piece of work!
