so i dont usually read fantasy(im a romance girly) but ik alot of people who do ijdk if i want to get into it or not yk. but if i do what should i read as my first fantasy book??
i have caraval by stephanie garber gifted to me(from someone who thought i would like it) but havent started it yet
is powerless by lauren roberts any good like idkkk
or is the cruel prince by holly black good
i js needd some helppp! should i get out of my comfort zone or should i stay in my romance corner??

READ POWERLESS. i did like to read fantasy and didnt want to read powerless but i read it and it has romance too and ITS AMAZING

Read Powerless or Six of Crows as a first fantasy book they are both fairly fast paced, have some romance, and get you hooked immediately

The shadow hunter series by Cassandra Clare is both romantasy and YA if it helps it's one of my favorite book series

cruel Prince! It’s the best one hands down out of all of those (caraval in my opinion has bad pacing and powerless is very trope-y and copied from red queen + the hunger games)

Omg! You want romance? Try Six Crimson Cranes! It's easy to follow, very dreamy, and the romance is swoon-worthy~ Very Disney and Studio Ghibli coded.

fyi caraval and cruel prince is amazing it is one of my favorite books but i just think that those are mainly fantasy and it would be easier for you if you start with powerless to get into fantasy.
another really good series to get into fantasy is a court of thorns and roses - it also has romance as a big subplot.

the cruel prince for sure!! powerless was written for the booktok algorithm, there's no originality but the romance aspect was enjoyable. I found Caraval boring, I know a lot of people love it but I couldn't get into it and I probably won't continue the series.
The Cruel Prince is the perfect introduction to fantasy, the romance is slow burn but it's so rewarding (you'll get a new book bf for sure). It has a badass heroine and fabulous worldbuilding. It's a no brainer in my opinion!

Definitely read Powerless if you like romance! As the series progresses, it definitely becomes more romance heavy but still great fantasy and plot. I loveddd the series sm and I totally recommend you read it <33

yess omg read powerless it's so good and definitely worth some of the waiting!!! Caraval was pretty good just not as... impactful and in my opinion didn't have as much romance. I'm currently reading the cruel prince rn and so far it's really good but I would DEFINITELY say Powerless!

For your first step in fantasy, you should definitely go for powerless

I LOVE THE CARAVAL BOOKS. Legendary, the second one was also one of my favs. Ive heard powerless is super good also, but from my opinion, caraval is an easy but amazing read.
I also really liked Cruel prince!

powerless and caraval are great if you want to start getting into it!! personally, i started with the cruel prince but it doesn’t really pick up on the romance plot as much, as it’s a side plot in the book. once you start romantasy you never go back to romance!!

I think powerless DEFINITELY but also I think the prison healer is a really good fantasy that can get you into fantasy so I recommend both of those

In my opinion the cruel Prince is the best of the 3 especially since they do enemies to lovers SO GOOD powerless is also rlly good as well maybe a bit easier of a read tbh
